Musky, the best way to keep those warm weather crappie firm is to put them in the cooler when you catch them. Dont throw them in the livewell. Thats warm water and they get mushy really fast in it. Break open the bags of ice too. Leave them on ice overnite too and they'll be ready to go in the morning. Be sure to use the drain plug on the cooler.

Wont do any good. The lake water will be too hot to cool for any time. Even using the recirculator in your livewell wont do. Its only moving the warm water around, not cooling it. Nothing beats ice in a cooler.
