Greetings! Anyone know the conditions at Keystone Power Dam? I know at the close of 07, the water level was really down.

Take Rt 22 East. Get on Rt 286 through Holiday Park. When you see the Dairy Queen on the right keep going straight. Over the top of the hill Cooper RV sales is on the left and the road becomes four lanes, this is now Rt 380. Follow this until you come to Rt 66 exit. At the end of the ramp at the stop sign turn right going north. State Police station is on the right. Rt 66 goes to the right at the Y. Follow this until you come to Naser's on the right and cross the bridge. Once across the bridge go straight up the hill through town, this is now Rt 56. You will pass Bush Ford on the right. Follow Rt 56 out until you come to Rt 210 and turn left. Rt 210 will cross Rt 422. Just follow Rt 210 on out. You will see Keystone Power Dam on the left. About 1-1.5 mile from the dam the PFBC has a boat launch.

Is this the same dam that instead of turning left at the Sheetz on 22 to go to Loyalhanna, you make the right and follow that road a couple mile?

No, that is Keystone State Park...small, electric only lake.  Two different lakes.

would I look like an idiot if I took my boat there? It has 150 hp outboard, so what if I just use the trolling motor to get around, is that legal?

I believe so....make sure it is up and out of the water.  Maybe even take the prop off.

I just didn't want to go on a 20 hp or even an electric only lake with a 150 hp outboard, from reading these boards it doesnt take much to rub someone the wrong way. I mean I have no problem scooting around with a trolling motor anyway, I just don't want any static for taking a bass boat on a restricted late

How big is Keystone power dam lake do you think it would be hard to fish it out of a kayak?

there is only one lake in around here in pa that i know of off hand that you cannot take a gas motor on or have a fuel tank on board and thats quemahoning. any fish commision lake (electric only) or 9.9 lake (cross creek and power dam) or 20hp (dcnr lakes) you can have a 300 hanging off the back as long as its tipped up.

truthfully when im at electric only lakes i leave the motor down so the boat doesnt swing around in circles. if someone says something i'll pull it up but it's not like it's running.

fyi ...if you fish in ohio at all there are quite a few reservoirs around akron like ladue and mogadore where you cannot have a motor or fuel system on board.

Several resevoirs in Cambria County that are electric only where no fuel system of any kind is allowed.  My boat moves faster under electric power with my motor and gas tank removed anyways.

out of curiosity which ones? im assuming all the cambria somerset watershed lakes? i knew the que was like that but didnt know about the others as i dont get out that way much for that specific reason. removing a motor and fuel system from a bass tracker is no small task

More places to launch a car top boat than the 1 ramp on 210.  Theres a half dozen places you can toss in  a small boat.  Guys I know are going up in the morning ill post the results later.  New bait shop is open at 6am, at least the sign says so.

whether you look like an idiot or not is up to you....honestly if i saw someone on that lake with a 150 outboard i would laugh, and probably snap a few pics with my camera phone.

there are FAR better places to go close to there that would be better for you.

Who gives a rats arse what you are in as long as you are out fishing and enjoying the day?  If you want to fish it by boat and all you have is a bass boat, then go for it.

Anyways, to plnoldrick, Wilmore Dam in Cambria is electric only with no fuel system allowed on the lake.
