Has anyone fished north of Brockway on Little Toby, Boggy or or Brandy Camp?  I'm less concerned with the quantity of fish and more concered with the quantity of fishermen and stream accessibility & feel.  Or would I be better served to continue north above St Marys?  I'm based in DuBois.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  I have done the Benezette area in the past as well as Allens Mills.

Any good info on the tri county area would be great.  The Benezette streams are a zoo the first day of trout.

I hit Medix, Hicks and Dents.  Dents was a few years back, but I know Medix and Hicks (south) were absolute zoos and I'd rather stay home than fool around with that again.

I've hit driftwood close to where 555 and 120 meet.  It is pretty large there and have gotten a few.  Were you farther north?  Thanks.

I think dents is polluted unless the headwaters has fish.  Try Mix run or Gifford run, wont be very big crowds.  I know they stock Bennett Branch near penfield but I never tried it.

Also, if you want the whole stream to yourself try Mosquito Creek.  They dont stock it but there are natives.

i fish in driftwood, 120 & 555 intersection, most oftem but also fish upstream quite often.  i often catch double digits at driftwood and lots upstream too. it is big water and because of that you usually have a lot of water to yourself.  also after about 11:00 1/2 the people leave and don't come back.  some nice hatches there too.

If you're looking for a good place to just catch some fish, don't forget that Sandy Lick right in town ( DuBois) has an artifical lures only project on it and is stocked 3x a year with some pretty nice fish. Brookville's project on North Fork Red bank is fly fishing only, but it has NO harvest now so there should be a number of fish in there too.

Thanks for all the replies.  Mosquito looks like a nice possibility and then I could check out Gifford too.

I just saw the delayed harvest outside DuBois.  Can't believe I never noticed that before.  I assume access is over behind the mall somewhere by the map?

Not to much farther from there ive done pretty good at east branch sinnamahoning above the dam and i do good at kettle creek every year but thats a little bit farther than benezette

I see this as a general description of where to fish because this is big water (150" across in some places) and you'd be hard press fishing the actual intersection because it's about 250 yards from the water (be 1 he!! of a cast).  plus there is something like 30 miles of upstream. it like saying fish at ohiopyle or kinzue outflow or some FFO section. also I fish this creek often, probably the most often of the trout streams I fish besides neshanock. so don't get all high and mighty you found me out thing going. if you want I’ll even take you out and show you some hole to fish.

Actually, that's why I didn't bother asking for specifics from anyone.  Just looking for a general place to try, and I'll take my lumps finding the specifics. 

Hey everyone, go to Allens Mills and fish.  I loaded up 2 years ago (I really did).......but it is a bitch to fish.  You will sweat and have your fortitude tested.

y u have to try to be a hard ass thats a great area to fish and if you a true fisherman and good at it why you afraid of someone given away your spot?

Thats a pretty big spot ( and very well known) to worry about burning....  Now mosquito creek or Gifford... don't waste your time... AMD/ Acid Rain... [;)]    Sandy Lick DHALO, access behind Mall and along walkway.

have you ever tried that creek up by that building? you can't miss it it's near some trees. fish 20.5 yards upstrem of the smaller of the three bushes. don't forget your ghilli suit ,some body might see you.

There isn't acid mine drainage on Gifford and Mosquito.  They are both wilderness streams with crystal clear water and native brook trout.

giffords clean,but, i think mosquito has some acid drainage in it. it may be below the sportsmans club. don't know for certain never fished it, only live 10 miles from there, but remember reading something about them wanting to clean up the stream, this was when roy savel ran the place.

Hello all,

I am heading up to Benezette with my son and nephew.  Looking for a decent place to fish.  Kids are teenagers so we can hike a bit if we need to.  I know Medix Run is crazy 1st day.  Can anyone point me to a place not to far from Benezette where the crowds aren't to bad and the stream is wider than 10 feet.  Please respond to ukntcme@gmail.com  thanks for any help.  Aslo where can you buy bait up there?

I heard 'Spiftwood' is a nice stream, right near a major intersection.  :-)

Drove up to Smifford and only found some Newts getting busy in the slower pools.  Didn't see a fish and was on a 'road' if you could call it that where there is a bridge.  Another fisherman said he had not seen a trout there in the 4 years he had been coming up there.  If someone could give me a hint on stream access where there are fish -- off the record -- please drop me an email.  Thanks.

vmises, i live in the philipsburg area if you want any info on native streams in this area drop me a line. the stocked ones you should know about. i.e. six mile, black moshannon etc.
