I guess nobody remembers Marvel Smith getting busted with weed a few years ago.  Did he get cut, or did he get a contract extension?  Answer:  contract extension and a Super Bowl win.

I don't have a problem either.

Young, rich athletes do some stupid things.  If I was 23, with millions, I'd do stupid things too.  Heck, I'm 37, without millions, and still do stupid things.

I'm already tired of hearing how great the NY Giants are. IMO the Steelers would beat them if they didn't have so many key injuries, though they wouldn't be as dominent as Cleveland was in defeating them, lol! Two weeks ago Washington beat the Browns, but I'm not convinced Washington is a good team. I thought QB Derek Anderson was horrible in that game and that's why Cleveland beat themselves. Monday Night the Steelers shouldn't have much problem defeating the Skins, 24-10.

If the Browns are to make the play-offs in 2008, they have to keep the winning going. They've won three of their past four games. The next four of five Cleveland games are home. They play Baltimore, Denver(Thur), at Buffalo(Mon), Houston + Indianapolis. The Kellen Winslow insident hopefully will be forgotten and both parties will move on this season. (next year is another story!) Adding a Pro Bowl tight end to your line-up seems like a bonus, right? The Browns have won both games Winslow was out, against the NY Giants and Jacksonville. Remember the champs, the NY Giants were a better team without their starting TE, Jeremy Shockey, last season.

Excellent call!  You would have nailed it if Reed hadn't missed that extra point.

Wow, could Holmes drop any more passes?  Maybe he wasn't high enough to play.

I think Ben will miss a couple games.  He's not been right for over a month, it was only a matter of time until he missed a few this season.

And to those Leftwich bashers that thought they were so smart during training camp, what's up now?  He got the job done right last night.

Yes, I was one of them and still am but I will eat crow and say he got the job done last night. But only last night. I still shudder to think what would happen if he had to lead the team for an extended amount of time.
Although I will say this, with that defense, I'm beginning to think even Track could suffice at quarterback for a game or two.

We will find out, I think.

That defense was stellar last night.  If not for the risky onside kick to start the game, which I was glad to see at the time, and the resulting great field position for DC on their first two posessions, Washington would have been shut out.

Granted, Browns QB Derek Anderson has a strong arm, but most teams in the NFL are looking for consistency, high pass completion percentage, few turnovers and overall team leadership in a starting QB. Maybe Brady Quinn has these traits, we will start to see tonight against a below average Denver defense. IMO the Browns should have pulled Anderson and put Quinn in to start the second half at Washington two games ago. Could this be the start of the Brady Quinn era?.....or the Byron Leftwich era in Pittsburgh, lol!

...I hear Brady Quinn is starting tonight as a result of pressure from Roger Goodell. Goodell wanted to promote tonight's game on the NFL network so he twisted Randy Lerner's arm.

Without Quinn starting, interest in this game would be zero.

Plus Quinn gives the NFL Network an opportunity to steal viewers from LOGO.  just sayin'.

Another dissapointing and totally avoidable loss. Reminded me so much of the earlier loss to the Giants as both games shared two common factors. Turnovers and no pressure on the quarterback. I just don't understand why Lebeau thought that letting Manning sit back there and survey the field was the best way to slow him down. Three years ago they were in his grill the entire game and he looked nothing like the quarterback that he usually is.
Bens picks were both very poor throws and decisions especially the first one. You can't keep setting up the opposing teams offense at your own 30 yard line and not expect to pay. Throw in the mysterious way the ball seems to bounce off of Steeler players and in to the opposing teams players hands and you get what you deserve. A game they should have won. A game they may come to regret they lost.
