Yeah, injuries are huge, it's a shame when that happens.  Believe me, I know, the Bills had 19 players on IR last year.  We were gutted by injuries.  The only bright side is that it gives a team a chance to find new talent.  People who would have otherwise gone unnoticed get the chance to play.

Speaking of the Bill, we're 1 point underdogs against the Cardinals. What's up with that?

I like it...it gives the team something to be pi$$ed about in the lockeroom and the feeling that they have something to prove and that they're not getting any respect.   Buffalo has something to prove, until we win a superbowl...then we can all just drift off into oblivion!!

The Cards are good, it will be a tough game.  I'm pumped already!!!!!

Indeed, the Bills have gone from 0-60 in a single off-season and are looking very sharp.  Lynch is opening up their entire offense, and even if he should be stopped, there's now plenty of other options.

The Cards, for their part, should have been taking that division (or at least a wildcard spot) the past 2-3 years. They've had the talent, but for some reason or another, they never seem to gel.  I dont think Whisenhunt is the ideal coach for that team, but he's doing pretty good with them so far.  I wouldn't mind seeing some post season success for Fitzy this year.

from what little i've seen of them Buffalo has looked strong. games in Arizona. home team gets a 3 point head start. imo it seems the oddsmakers consider it an even game, however, 1 point changes a straight up bet a ton.

Hey Rap,
You obviously don't know anything about the Bills.  Have you seen a game this year??  They are young and talented.  They have a long way to go, but they're playing hard and they're winning games.  This isn't the NCAA, it's the NFL.  To win four straight is an achievement for any team, especially a young team.  Of course, I'm a homer and have been waiting a long time for a winning team but the Bills will be right there in the coming years.  I'm not saying we're in the elite teams of the NFL, but hopefully in a couple of years we will be.

As far as I can see, any team that struggles to beat the Raiders and the Rams before pulling away at the end, just can't be taken all that seriously yet. Yet being the operative word.
I will say this though. I think they have a heck of a chance of winning the division they play in. I'll reserve judgement until they play some of the better teams in the league.

As if any team that only scores 10 points against the Browns can be taken seriously.

A little easier to believe in a team that only scores 10 against the Browns in the remnants of a hurricane than it is to have faith in a team who struggles against the Raiders in perfect weather and the Rams in a dome.
But then again, ur teh sartm eno duc os u keyp belienav.

Both teams had to play in those conditions - so that point holds no water at all.

A rookie quarterback moved the ball down the field virtually un-opposed to tie the game against that steel-curtain.

Yeah - the Bills still need to prove themselves - but cutting a team down because of how "convincingly" they beat another team is not the way to go here.  This is particularly true when the foundation that one is standing on is rather weak itself.

Have a great day!

Dang.  I thought you'd be all over this board in the first two weeks.

Your offense is looking like the Pats of the past few years.  Your defense on the other hand.  Well, there is a reason why the Browns get rid of bad players from a bad defense...

I think the Stillers aren't looking good at all this week.  Their o line is toast, and relying on Moore and the Dumptruck (who has been sitting on a couch for a few months), doesn't look good.  The Jags aren't on the top of their game either.  I'd imagine, that it is going to be another exciting game like their past 3 have been...  I doubt either team will be out of the game until the final minutes.  Luckily the Stiller's defense is playing solid, or I'd say the Jags would walk away with this game.

Without Hampton - Jags 13 - Stillers 10

With Hampton - Stillers 10 - Jags 9

Thats what is worrying me.  The steelers D was looking a little shaky on Monday.  Did well in OT but let Flacco drive and tie fairly easily.  Mason was SO wide open on almost every down.  Granted, Troy was close on a couple throws but overall, still not as a solid effort as I had hoped.  I almost went to bed after halftime I was so disgusted but, I said what the hey, maybe they will at least make a game of it.  Glad I stayed awake.

I think it will be close on Sun. night and I think it is a toss up.  My heart says to give it to PGH by 3 but my gut says the Jags take it by 3.  So, who knows?

Fair enough, but you obviously didn't watch the games Rap.  Our offensive line has not shown up in the first half, big problem.

The Raiders are not that bad of a team.  They lead the Chargers through three quarters and the bolts were only able to beat them on a late score.

The Rams suck, we played horribly in the first half.  Total domination in the second half.

You must have missed the fact that we beat Jacksonville at JAX...isn't that the same team that beat the Stillers at home last year in the Playoffs??  They must not qualify as a real team.

Anyways...4-0 is 4-0, it speaks for itself.

Yeah but that Steeler D is a bunch of beasts.  Your linebackers are ridiculous, throw Polamalu in there and they can definitely wreak some havoc.  Your D will be o.k.

You're right as usual genius. Cutting a team down because of how convincingly they beat another team is not the way to go here. You would never do that right? Guess I didn't read your comment of the Steelers Cleveland game.
By the way, the Steel Curtain went out of style in the early 80's. Guess you already knew that though huh?
Waht a barin.

One should examine the source of the first stone.

There is this concept of Victim Precipitated Crime - as an example - an extremely intoxicated person enters a bar and begins to harass or otherwise annoy the living crap out of everyone present.  After about two hours of this, he ends up on the floor from a nice hard blow to the nose.  He gets to his feet and cries foul.  Those cries fall on deaf ears.  Wonder why?

Enjoy your day.

You're correct, I haven't watched the games in their entirety. Jacksonville is definitely no slouch. But I don't think they are a Super Bowl contender either.
The Raiders stink. The Chargers have one of the worst defenses in the league. Another overated team. Again, I'll reserve judgement until they start beating some of the elite teams in the league. But as to your original point, there must be some reason that they are underdogs this coming Sunday. Somebody who sets the odds must feel as I do.

Damn, I knew the Steeler O-line hasn't been great, but giving up sacks to Pitt is a bit much...

Personal attacks are against the policy of these boards.  Becoming a bit personal aren't we?  In any event, never knew that academics were perfect.  Heck, some of the best professors (and well published) I had in college had worse control over their spelling than egg sac (no offense eggy - just could not resist buddy). Spell check and editors take care of the little things.  So do not worry about the youth of today.  I know they can formulate an argument better than most adults.

Please stick with the issues and not dive into personal attacks.  I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

i wouldnt bet a penny on this game. if all the stillers opponents wore jacksonville uniforms the stillers may never win a game. dont understand why they have such a hard time with the jags but its crazy. still gotta pick the stillers with another tight game winning field goal.

dont know about the Browns not losing. maybe some credibilty, braylon edwards anyway. have you seen the "5 Hour Energy" commercial he does. its ridiculous.

on a positive, maybe he can sneek some "stickum" in those bottles.

off topic but T.O. is crying again. only took one loss and he's back at it with not getting the ball enough for his team to win and at it again with the media. he reminds me of Neon Deion Sanders all over again. busts everybody's bawls, taunts the opponents fans, argues with his coaches, players, media, etc... and when it goes bad he cant take it when he gets back what he dished out. man its great. hope dallas doesnt win another game this year.

The worst part is, they out Stiller the Stillers too...

Somehow they can stuff just about every running back in the league, until ageless Taylor shows up.  Would that dude just retire!!!

I guess it is their Stilleresque (sp) style, but I really can't find it in myself to hate that team.  It has to be that they are a Florida team that I could find myself moving there and rooting for some day???  Because the Titans are the same style, but can't stand them.  The whole Tommy Maddox gernie thing rubbed me the wrong way (funny as hell), but would rather move to Buffalo than Nashville!!!

What rubbed me the wrong way was watching Maddox give a game to the Jags 3 years ago because he wouldnt fall on his own fumble and take a hit.  We'd ahve won that game with a field goal, but he let them recover, which they eventually turned into 6.  Was never a huge Maddox fan, but after that, he's right up in there with O'donnell.

Come to think of it, the Steelers have one 2-4 of the last games I've gone to see...and the 2 losses were that embarassment of a game and the AFC Championship where we lost to the Refs.  (A few NE players were standing nearby, I think).  Only good thing about that game was the awesome seats we had (club level) and the price (free for me).
