flyrod, if one wing is longer than the other it's ok to trim it at the same angles. just to let you know though, on dries if the wings aren't even on the hook, left-right, they will spin in the air and twist your line. this is what i experienced, i don't put wings on my dry flies #16 or smaller, besides it's a pain and i still catch trout. if i do want a siluette of a wing i'll add some poly standing up inside the hackle but don't split it. ~dt
