i've caught some of my biggest cats this time of year, they are cruising the flats looking for spawning activity. if nothing is biting try drifting a perch on a 2/0 circle hook through the mud flats at hunter's run launch. remember in a few weeks they will be spawning as well.

Its still down like someone said, about 10ft. Not too many speed demons so the lake is pretty calm. Caught some crappies and some perch. Didnt fish much for bass. Had my 4yr old with me.

fished at shenks cemetary on saturday.two people  caught 20-25 crappie and 10-15 perch w/ a few bluegill thrown in no keepers mostly average size fish. watched a 40" musky follow our crappies in three different times, couldn't get him to bite would just fin in place and watch the crappie flop on the surface, then he'd back away. he'd be a nice one to take a picture of. p.s. water temp was 67* for those in the know.

didn't go back into the shallows, stayed out along the old submerged road bed on the pier side of the lake. when the crappies are spawning we usually get some good size carp on eggs as they cruise through the crappie nests stealing eggs.

Dowdy

BTW... the damn amish are lucky i let my cell phone in my truck thursday night. I went down by shenks to fish around the pier and i saw them throwing crappies in the coolers(about ten pilgrams) that were no more then 7". Pretty sure theres a size restriction higher then that, I think its 9" it may be 12". Next time I see those bastards Ill have my phone and then we'll see how much "feesh ona" they have.

I like not having to measure fish, I just smile knowing there will be no fileting when im done fishing, I HATE to eat fish.
