I was on my boat. The lake was still down 10' or so.

nut -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/24/2008 5:49:40 AM)

i've caught some of my biggest cats this time of year, they are cruising the flats looking for spawning activity. if nothing is biting try drifting a perch on a 2/0 circle hook through the mud flats at hunter's run launch. remember in a few weeks they will be spawning as well.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/24/2008 2:26:58 PM)

jlh42581 -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/25/2008 6:58:34 PM)

Its still down like someone said, about 10ft. Not too many speed demons so the lake is pretty calm. Caught some crappies and some perch. Didnt fish much for bass. Had my 4yr old with me.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/26/2008 4:17:07 PM)

Ill be up there camping the 2nd week of may the fish should be up my then. camp 3 days nice park.  Cook some beerbattered crappie over an open fire cant beat that.

porter64 -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/26/2008 11:41:16 PM)

Nice trout waters there!

nut -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/27/2008 8:15:05 AM)

fished at shenks cemetary on saturday.two people  caught 20-25 crappie and 10-15 perch w/ a few bluegill thrown in no keepers mostly average size fish. watched a 40" musky follow our crappies in three different times, couldn't get him to bite would just fin in place and watch the crappie flop on the surface,then he'd back away. he'd be a nice one to take a picture of. p.s. water temp was 67* for those in the know.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (4/30/2008 4:44:25 PM)

Sounds good. did the carp go on the spawn yet.

nut -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/1/2008 6:37:33 AM)

didn't go back into the shallows, stayed out along the old submerged road bed on the pier side of the lake. when the crappies are spawning we usually get some good size carp on eggs as they cruise through the crappie nests stealing eggs.

jlh42581 -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/2/2008 10:35:29 AM)

water temp at the upper end dropped 10 degrees. The lake is pretty much full.

nut -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/3/2008 12:43:04 PM)

upper end , that would be up by the dowdy road hole or the bridge?

Dowdy

BTW... the damn amish are lucky i let my cell phone in my truck thursday night. I went down by shenks to fish around the pier and i saw them throwing crappies in the coolers(about ten pilgrams) that were no more then 7". Pretty sure theres a size restriction higher then that, I think its 9" it may be 12". Next time I see those bastards Ill have my phone and then we'll see how much "feesh ona" they have.

I like not having to measure fish, I just smile knowing there will be no fileting when im done fishing, I HATE to eat fish.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/3/2008 3:28:35 PM)

Yes they have to be 9 inchs and 20 a day there always there when the crappie come up and clean the place out...  Must be the same tribe from pyma, they take everything and grind them for patties.  No policeing there.

gobyking -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/4/2008 5:12:00 AM)

Their Amish,they don't have to pay taxes or abide by your english rules.

jlh42581 -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/4/2008 8:48:36 AM)

We'll see about that.

cabst119 -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/5/2008 12:00:22 PM)

The chinamen are worse than the amish at Sayers.

Lipsticker2 -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/5/2008 2:28:06 PM)

Take a walk to the spillway on Sayers. They keep everything that swims!

Panfisher -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/6/2008 10:21:20 AM)

Turn em in Jeremy.  They are not above the law.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/6/2008 8:27:44 PM)

Just wait until early june they will be elbow to elbow on shencks pier taking everything.

STEALYS4ME -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/8/2008 10:06:28 PM)

jlh42581 -> RE: Sayers dam. (5/9/2008 7:33:06 AM)
