pghmarty -> Help for those that need it posting pictures. (10/24/2007 10:01:18 PM)
"You need to store the picture in a site like photobucket then use the http// address.
Resize pictures to around 600x something before loading into your storage site
Put the link into the Add image icon [image]http://forums.fishusa.com/rteimages/image.gif[/image] above where you write.
I use Faststone for editing photos. It is a free download and is very easy to use. Photobucket is also free After you do it once it is pretty easy.
Only use one http// in the add image box-there is one in the box and one in the link.

Has anyone used GIMP 2 GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages. (more...)

Or.....
You can use www.tinypic.com All you have to do is upload your pic, copy the IMG and paste it to the post. Change the IMG to img and you're done!

DD,
you're absolutely right about that. You have to reduce photos to the point where you can't even see them with the naked eye to post 'em! It sucks.
Mika...thats a dandy steelhead!

Thanks, can,t wait to get out again. Mike , I use photobucket and do what you said. I just copy the (IMG), then paste it. Then change the (IMG) to (img). I don,t have to change the size.

Here is a really simple image resizer on the microsoft site for all you guys running XP. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Scroll down the page about half way and you will see it on the right. It's just called image resizer. When you download it you just right click on any picture and it will give you an additional option to "resize image". It has 4 standard sizes to pick from, just click one and it automatically creates a resized picture in the same file your original is in and doesn't mess with the original picture.
