If you didn't hit him dead on the snout, it's possible the bullet could skim off the top of his skull rather than smashing thru it all agreed a 12 gauge pump w/magnum load slugs or hi-powered magnum rifle was best there's not a lot choices commercially available in hand cannon. 44mag minimum, 454 Casual, 460 and 500 rem if griz, the bigger the better ..L.T.A.
