how did you know it was 350 pounds, or 346?

did someone at the stream weigh it?  or more importantly, have a scale with them in the chance they would see a bear?

Boga makes a new grip for catch and release big game hunters. Many say though that it injures the animals too badly and that the grip shouldn't be used.

I heard a group of pinners ran out of egg sacs and couldnt catch any more fish. So they scavenged the entire area looking for maggots or any other type of "bait."  Once "bait" was found, the chest pounding, cool facing, and ego raising was back on.

it is very tempting to bust you up for that one....but too much work to do for me tonight (fortunate for you)

There was/is a bear in that area.I parked at the dead end up from RT 20 on Monday morning and as I was getting my gear together some women that live there told me to be careful 'cause they saw the bear that morning. As I was walking to the stream a guy came up the path and said there is few fish but one BIG bear down there,he saw it come down to the waters edge take a drink then took a look at him and turn and walk away.He said it was a bit uneasy to be that close to it and not know what to do,he did nothing and the bear left.I spent about a hour there and saw few fish and no bear.

After a hard, honest day's work, I get online to make fun of pinners to feel worthy in life, this is when I exert the chest pounding, cool facing, and ego raising. If I run out of material for my orange spey's, I, like the pinners, look for a solution. I simply shave my body hair and use it for tying.

I think I'd rather slit some hens

I believe bigslick, they are around regardless of how many of you dont think so. I saw one two weeks ago not far from Rick Road on upper elk, of course it was not in the creek but in a field.

The average PA black bear is between 120-160 pounds. But we do have the largest and fastest growing population in the US. Most of this is in what we call "Pennsyl-tucky" I have seen my share of black bears and had more than one "uh oh now what" moment. The bear picture below goes between 650 and 700. She had 5 cubs with her the following year and would often walk through the corn field behind the parsonage where I lived near the PA Grand Canyon. After I took this photo, she stood up and stuck her nose in some branches beside the cornfield. After she left--a while after she left--I walked out and had to stand tip toe to touch where she had her nose (and I am 6 feet tall).

This one was farther down the road and actually "false charged" me. Thankfully I was in the truck at the time. A friend of mine took these we really wished that the quality was better on the cubs in the tree. This one might go about 250 or up in the fall. After we took this picture I had to turn around to tell my wife and son to head back to the house. They were walking the road, all I had to say was "Sow with cubs."

Anadromous, this is on the Stony Fork Creek Road past the campground.. The heavy equipment is for replacing the bridge.

We took these (I am pretty sure my friend took this set) on our way back through. She started popping her teeth and huffing.
Not a happy bear...

But if you felt that you had to protect these you might not be too happy either...
