Went up for the week for some R&R. Had a ball with the Kings, Hoes, and Steelies. Fish were all spread out. Not too much fishing pressure either. Met a lot of really nice guys on the river. Only a couple of knucklehead idiots fishing, (if you can call it that). Water was low, 335 all week. Will post pics later. A great trip for all. Wish every trip was that good...

It was a good trip. Even the four newbies for steel that came with us got into the steelies. They're hooked for life now. Beads and sacks were the bait of choice. Seen a lot of nice browns in the river but they were REALLY spooked. I still don't understand the need for putting 4 or 5 "000buck" split shots on for fishing in such low water. Talk about line shy. I used 2 or MAYBE 3 bb shots  and many times the fish would scatter when it hit the water.

Steel averaged between 10-12lbs. One buddy released a lot of shorts. I lost one an honest 18lb. Couldn't control him at all. Jumped out of the water before I knew he was hooked. Ran the fast water back to Canada. Two guys down below me saw it up close and said it was over twenty easy. Who knows? I never hooked into one that big before so I was happy to have the chance at it.

Had a nice pod of fairly fresh kings come through one evening. I had 6# line on my steel rod. Those buggers never even knew they were hooked. Pink sacks worked for them. Seen quite a few hoes running through everyday. Nice colors on the spawing hoes. Kings were all over spawning. Always neat to watch mother nature in action 3 feet from your boots. Half dead ones were a PIA. with foulhooking. Seen some people keeping them to eat and give away.  To each their own.
