Gentlemen,
Well tonight was halloween and my grandson  came up with about the strangest costume ever.   He went as a severed head sitting on a table.  We cut a hole in an old card table then cut a hole in a plastic serving plate. he sat under the table and put his head up thru the table and the plate.  Then we arranged plastic fruit and vegetables around his head and set the table with two plates, candles, dinnerware the whole schmeel.  We did his face up in white and black make-up so he looked like a mask.
People actually thought he was a prop till he would turn his head and talk to them.  Some people and kids actually froze and wouldn't come near him.  He had another hole cut in the table so his hand could come out holding candy (like thing on the Addams Family) and there were quite a few kids who wouldn't take the candy.
One mother almost fainted when he talked to her.  We gave away about 30-40 pounds of candy tonight!  And about 7 people took pictures of their kids standing next to Brandon.    A great night.  I'm trying to figure out how to get the pix out of my phone so I may post them later.

acmaul13,
The only drawback is that he has to sit all night and he can't get out and do the trick-or-treating.  But he did get enough candy.  It was his idea.  He thought it up and I built it for him.  He sits on a little seat with his legs crossed (budda style)  and folks just can't figure how we put him under the small table.  One woman thought that his body was inside the house? ? ? LOL!

Those were great! I am so glad to see kids doing orginal costumes. I only seen one really good costume Saturday night while passing out candy. Then, I seen one when we went out Saturday night (adult costume). Can't wait till next year already!

indsguiz, forget the candy...Scaring others IMO is well worth it

As far as what other folks that dressed up as, looked like most stopped at Spirit of Halloween which I kinda find lacking personality and originality...
