Why wouldn't you use a jig?

I'd go with the sandwich technique of waxies and mealies... the two paired up in the right sequence are absolutely deadly.

in all seriousness, dry fly or die boys... personally love the light cahill hatch

thanks adam... the truth is I just hate methodically roll casting nymphs or swinging.  Tight loops and no weight make me tingle.

for me, mini-foo jig, sometimes tipped with a waxie, they usually work as well on it's own though...

I'd have to say it's one that Dream Catcher ties for me. It perfectly mimics a blue powerbait. He also ties up a mean rainbow one. These can be deadly at the Elk Creek Access area.

The best bait there is would be a dime sized pink egg sack with loose, raw brown trout eggs, absolute steelhead candy
Now we catch less fish but have more fun with the fly rod
