Status: offline 		Haven't posted on this site for a while, but had to chime in. I have fished all over the US and Canada--both in fresh and salt water. From Presque Isle (bass) to Montana (trout) to Florida (tarpon and reds) to Hawaii (bonefish), most of this is with a flyrod. The big exception is here in on the local tribs for steelhead. Starting pinning about four years ago and, in my opinion, there is no better way to fish the streams in OH, PA and NY. Natural drift, instant hook ups, full control during the fight, etc. To the guy who is asking about skein on your hands...many times, I am using nymphs, buggers and glo bugs under my pinning rig with excellent results. Bottom line...there is no way humanly possible to achieve the same results with a flyrod. Agree with other posts here. Why the hostility towards pinning?

It's fairly simple... one or two dudes (swing and kjh) hate pinners. They are fly fishing gods here on fisherie.com. These two have such an impact on the people that strive to be in their rank, that the followers develop the same sense of hostilitly to be just as "cool". This way, they can chime in on other threads in the hopes the fisherie community will think they too, are godly. It's a popularity contest.

Dru, Please dont try and get him to take that down. I love that he made that his signature. It makes me laugh every time I see. The reason I get such amusement out of it is because I dont even remember why I wrote that. But it is sounds like something I would print. Dude even dated it to make it official.
I remember making  a statement about women or wives fishing along time ago. Not the last thread that was going on about that but the one before that. Some kid called me out on one of my comments like a year later. It was great. People really take this stuff serious.

Anadromous Loomis, You guys get it. Some sooner than others.   Just like swinging for steelhead. I dont try and catch them all, just after the players.
