funny how we all have thinsulate and gore-tex and special shirts and shoes and such for hunting and fishing.  back in the day, those guys wore wool and canvas for hunting and an old jacket and old jeans for fishing.  i cannot get over the amount of junk i accumulated over the years, most not even used anymore.  my dad carried most of his tackle in a couple of pockets, and the guy was a catching machine.

you are so right oth, there are so many questions i would love to ask.

Yes they did. They're rolling in their graves looking at all the crap I've got through the years. I remember my first Woolrich jacket. I was the tallest proudest rooster at the hunting camp when I got it. Stil have it in the back of the closet. For some reason it's a little "snug" to wear these days.

I would want to go somewhere extremely remote for a couple of weeks.  Alone.  I'd say Alaska, but many of their rivers get to looking like Walnut access.  Maybe somewhere in Labrador, I had never heard of those brookies before, and I looked them up, and I bet it would be a freaking blast.

Of course I love spending time with my dad, but he would never be up to something that involves going away for 3 days, because something might happen at home. LOL, he is an extreme homebody.

And, of course, we would all love to bring some people back.  I'd like to do some back country hunting/fishing with my great grandfather, because other than me, he was the biggest outdoors man in my family.  LOL, my grandmother told me that he had hounds that would get on the streetcar(the driver knew them), ride to the end of the line, and hunt all day, and then come back and ride home.  I think that is pretty cool.  I have a super old picture of him with 3 other guys, and they had a string full of rabbits.  I have his old 16 gauge pump, and I use it for rabbits.

Razz,

Interesting. I have a goal of visiting all 50 states before I'm 30... Fished most of the ones that I've visited. That would be a good topic for another thread...

Alaska with 71GTO to catch salmon, steelbow and rainbows on the fly.  I'd have to get two rooms at a no tell motel cuz I would April Vokey as our guide and she would take care of all the other needs a guy has at the motel.  Im afraid the mask would scare her off it 71 was in the rook.

I would have to go to either Germany for some Brown Trout fishing or to Brazil for some peacock bass. For a partner. I'd love for my boys to come with me, but that's gonna take a few years for sure.

Looking on one of the sites for fishing in Germany, I found this...

"There are really no public fishing waters in Germany. Someone owns the fishing rights to every stream, river, lake, and pond. In addition to buying a German fishing license, you must pay that "someone" for a daily, weekly, or monthly permit to fish. A daily permit or "Tages Karte" can be obtained for as little as 8 EURO, or as much as 32 EURO for most waters, but a few of the more secluded and productive locations can run as high as 100 EURO per day. "

Smallie,
You are very right about the waters in Germany.  But I will add something IF you can make friends in the country you may be invited to fish.  ANd being a good guest can result in more "invites".  It is a very formalizd experience and can be very changing to the way you approach fishing.
Now where would I like to go, and with whom.   OK.  Scotland with Bughawk;  Alaska with my gandson; The Maritime Povinces with Dano.  And Wyoming with Skip.  If I could bring somebody back it would probably be Teddy Rosevelt in Montana, or Wes Jordan in New York.  I'd really like to drag Rapalla11 to New Zealand for trophy browns.
