Admin -> Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/20/2009 3:34:49 PM)

A few points of clarification for everyone....

1)  Remember the FishUSA Forums, FishErie and FishSalmonRiver websites are private forums that are open to the public.  We can all agree that censorship is bad.  However, per the regulations that everyone agreed to upon signing up, this is to be a "PG-13" area.  That means the language and threats need to stop immediately. Threads and members who violate our policies will be dealt with according to our guidelines -- warnings, deleted/moved posts, and up to and including banning of your account.

2)  Don't be alarmed if one of your messages goes missing.  If you posted on a thread that was deleted, the message will go away.  That does not mean *your* message was bad per se, but it was deleted with the rest of the thread that violated our policies.  The FishUSA staff and moderators do not have time to pick through a thread to delete or edit the "bad" parts from the "good" parts.  If the majority of the thread is in violation of the policies, it will be deleted.

3) FishUSA stands behinds its moderators.  If a moderator gets out of line, we will surely let that person know (it has been done before). Moderators are to use their moderating power to uphold the FishUSA Forums policies, not do what is popular or act according to their own agenda.

If you have any questions regarding this post or the policies in general, please read the policies page thoroughly, then ask a moderator or send an email to webmaster@Fishusa.com.

Thank you.

Stream Walker -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/21/2009 11:37:42 PM)

I have been a member for many many years and have posted fishing reports for years.  Now, all of a sudden my reports are posted then disappear.  I have never used foul language but on the contrary posted honest positive reports.  What is going on ?  I would really like to know or get to the bottom of this situation.

Mountian Man -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/22/2009 12:08:01 AM)

Stream Walker are you naming spots in your reports? If you are that's like a no no...

Stream Walker -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/22/2009 5:07:23 PM)

Mountian Man, My reports are the same as what is on the fishing report page.  No more no less.  My reports are not about how much I catch or what I am using but tell honest reports about the stream conditions and numbers.  In the past years people have emailed me for I will not steer them wrong before they travel hours to find out different.  If someone is doing this on purpose, Oh well, it will save me time from posting for I do not have any financial gain in the matter.

wetfoot -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/24/2009 8:10:37 AM)

Can anyone tell me why it is that my e-mail is always full of reports? At least tell me what button to push to get it to stop!

Wally Cat -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/24/2009 10:51:34 AM)

Wetfoot - if you have "subscribed" to specific forums that you are interested in under "My Subscriptions" then you will no doubt get an e-mail every time there is a post on any of those forums. Go back through and "uncheck" the areas you have checked at and the excessive e-mails will stop. It worked for me.

wetfoot -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (10/25/2009 8:06:30 AM)

Thank You Wally Cat i was getting hundreds of e-mail and couldn't figure out what was going on.

Very true. Ironhed seems like a good dude, but he definitely has his own agenda, just like Egg Snag did. Mike G seemed to be the only one who could moderate impartially.

One question:
Is it in FishUSA's strategy to make Erie a great fishery? improve the economy and tourism? sell more tackle from their shops, more hotel business, food from local restaurants? If so, then you are failing with some of the out of control moderation..

I hope some "improvements" can be made...

If I post information or a "SECRET SPOT", I do it for a reason, on purpose and intentionally so that people who travel to come here will have a better chance to succeed..

It seems someone has an issue with this.. my recommendation is to fix the problem.

Thats all..

thanks

MackJ -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (1/4/2010 11:27:05 AM)

When FishUSA adopted the policy against so-called spot-burning, they took a firm stand that regardless of how allowing folks to post reports which mention specific stream locations might improve the forum, they did not want to lose the participation or patronage of those members who raised a fuss over it.  Case closed as far as I am concerned-- it is their message board.

DaFuNK -> RE: Deleted Posts, Bannings, and Other Things... (1/4/2010 12:10:06 PM)

its a private board, they can do what they want - i never deny this.
