I use palomar knots for strong fighting fish like steelies.

The palomar is a strong knot, but the guy asked about knots for rigging tandems.  I am not sure how you use a palomar to tie a tandem rig, unless you pre-tie your droppers.  Also getting the line through the eye on a small hook twice is usually not easy, and sometimes not possible.

I stick to the improved clinch mainly, but I also use a uni-knot at times.  They are both good strong knots when tied properly.

I agree w/ Essox. Getting line thru twice w/ small hooks is very tough.
Improved clinch will do the trick. Plus it's easy to tie in cold weather.

you got to put the line thru once then bring it back thru then tie you knot. i use it on flies and egg hooks 18s and 22s. its not hard try it.

Impr. cinch(wet). Trailer attached at eye of top hook if eye and line diameter allow it.

Rapala knot to the fly.

Ok. If it works for ya, I find that it slips with flourocarbon with out the extra pass through.

Uni knot for nearly everything... Very very rarely have one break and that's usually because I forget to moisten the knot before tightened...

The easiest for me is improved clinch on bend of lead fly.  Just twist the fly and put the tag though the first loop, then the second loop formed by doing this.

Ah.  Yeah, I'm not used to flouro.  Just copoly tippet material.  Never had an issue with slippage.  Landed plenty of big fish with that knot.  Hell, half the time on a snag I have to straighten the rod out and do the ol heave ho.  Almost every time the tippet will actually stretch and break before the knot slips.  Try it out.  Don't be scared.
