IMO, October,Not Feb. is the shortest Mo. of the year. Hunting for SHROOMS,Squirrels,Deer, then Bunnys & Birds,Then Turkeys,on top of some great fishing for bass,Crappie,Bull Gills & Cats & carp,Perch.Even just enjoying the great fall colors. Just aren't enough days & I am retired. A quick word to those of you that are thinking about retireing, don't, all of these decisions will give you a head-ache. Sorry the Devil made me say that.  lol    HAVE A GREAT FALL & don't be afraid to pick up after others Every Litter Bit hurts.  Sam

When I was in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery, time was going real slow also, that is why I try to get in as much hunting & fishing as I can now.  But, I do like brownies.  lol  sam

The warmer part of the fall (upper 40s-lower 70s) is by far my favorite time of the year.  It does go by way to fast though.  The crisp air, smell of the leaves and colors are enough, the bonus of it being one of the best times for fishing helps too!

Mr Crappie,
Have you been fishing Crooked Creek lately? I was just wondering how the crappie bite was. I have caught some nice ones in the fall at other lakes, but never tried CC in the fall.

Slabseeker, I haven't been there in a while, normaly every year I catch them from shore from March through November. When the water gets colder I do best in the early afternoon.I normaly just use jigs, but now minnows work well as the bass are hitting also.  sam
