There are a core of guys that shoot geese consistantly.  But I think there putting some miles in and not even trying around erie.  Alot of preessure, IMO Birds are down(compared to 5 years ago) and are harder to get unless you have a lot of time on your hands and $$ for gas.

This is the most pressure I have seen for geese since they started the early season.  I don't know how presque Isle has been.

Hummer hit it pretty well.  I mainly hunt with 4 guys, we killed 95 in 6 hunts this September, all around the Erie area.  Usually hunt Fariview/Edinboro/Waterford, this year we put more miles on the trucks than ever and hunted all over the place.  Gotta put the time and $ in if you want to kill a bunch.

Ya I know a lot of guys that hunt down that way.  There is a ton of birds but a ton of hunters as well.  Anywhere you go these days for geese, there will be a bunch of groups in the area.

We got 72 in the early season in our group....Bird were pressured a lot more this year than in recent years...Got a lot more bands this year than in recent years though...No $ bands yet this year.... Birds were decoy/spread shy as the season went on and you really had to work for them at times....

I only hunted Ohio three times in the early season, son and I busted 23,they have a long season, and tons of feeding areas, hunt one today and keep moving,if you just want to kill geese and put up big numbers,Ohio the place, I never turn down a good goose field, but like to hunt deer and turkey,my son and I can kill tons of but why shoot 100 -200 a year, did that a few years and gave up way to much deer hunting time. (bow and gun)
