Caught it today on the Kiski. They always chase my spinners, but I rarely hook them. They always seem to hook themselves in the eye, fight like mad when they do get hooked, and bleed like crazy.

I actually had one hooked today and when it came off, all I had left on the spinner was its eye.

I caught a few of those at Schenley years ago, and haven't caught any since. I wasn't sure what they were, either.

Looks like a mooneye. A few weeks ago we got a few out the same river.

Caught some at Lock 3 last summer. good little fighters. Ate one and it tasted like a salt water fish....good.

That actually might be a Goldeye, not a Mooneye. Did you get a look at its mouth.........paticularly the tongue? Goldeye have teeth on their tongue(sounds strange, but its true), Mooneye don't have this.

Here is a pic of a Goldeye toungue............don't try to lip 'em

definetly a pa whitefish...indiginous to our waters. Dont be afraid of them...they protect us from nature's pests. If you have one in your possesion your safe. Practice catch and release with them, And dont let it go in the wrong place...It could spell dissaster......
