carpediem -> 7/3 - Rough Day (7/3/2009 3:46:19 PM)

Planned to get the boat out on Arthur this morning with a buddy from work and his boy.  I just had the bearings replaced in my trailer 3 weeks ago and it was only the second trip on the new set.  Didn't even get out of the driveway before noticing a horrible noise coming from the trailer axle and I could feel a vibration going down the road.  So back we went and parked the boat  [sm=dunno.gif]

So we decided to shoot down to 528 and fish from shore anyway.  Picked up some minnies and crawlers and were the only ones there at 6:15.  Parked under the bridge and fished to hide from the rain.  No use, the wind was just howling, the sky was as gray as could be and the rain was coming down sideways.  I managed about 2 hours of that, catching only dinkers, and I put my poles back in the truck and set out to clean that dump up.  Too many dirty bastards leaving their garbage laying around.  There's a @#$%ing dumpster 50 yards away man, why do people leave their s--t laying everywhere.  Pop cans, bait containers, food wrappers, thousands of feet of tangled up fishing line.  What the hell is wrong with people?

Anyway, my buddy's boy had a good time.  We hit my favorite local greasy spoon after and had a bite of breakfast.  Boat trailer is broke and I'm wondering if we're ever going to see the sun again in Western PA.  It's been a strange summer...

10-4 on the weather, it sucks. I was at moraine also today, it wasn't great, one bass about 14 in. on my flyrod and a couple bluegills. The water is not warming up to where it should be.
   As for the trash , I agree 100%.  What are people thinking.  It is disgusting.  Maybe people have forgotten that it is a State Park and not some polluted creek bank running through a city slum.  But I guess it is the nature of some people these days.  Just take a look at the sides of our highways, around almost every blind turn your almost sure to find a McDonalds bag or a couple of beer cans. Remember that ad on TV about polluting, wher the American Indian has a tear coming from his eye.  Makes ya wonder.

I wish I had a dollar for every piece of trash I have to pick up from my front lawn.  People just open their car window and launch bags full of fast food garbage in my yard all the time.

As for Arthur, it just baffles me really.  How hard is it to just pick up your crap?  You just leave with what you came with and you can even stop on the driveway on the way out and leave your garbage in the dumpster.  They couldn't make it any more convenient than that really...  Some jagoff apparently bought one of those cheap electric lanterns, took it out of the plastic packaging, used it, and then left the packaging (along with some empty pop cans and probably a bait container) just sitting there when they left.  I mean what kind of person is that lazy?  What does their house look like I wonder?

I know I'm ranting but geez...  That's just so foreign to me, I guess I'll never understand.
