Finster -> Spin Doctor (7/2/2009 10:36:55 PM)

Anyone ever use a rig with a "spin doctor"? I'm planning a trip to lake Ontario in august and was told they work great on kings. I was looking at them on the net and don't really know how to rig one.

There are just like flasher if you have ever used them...Basically you put it between your rigger or your diver and your fly or whatever your going to use..We used the Frog SpinDoctors with Green A-Tom-Mik fly and did pretty good couple of weeks ago...Here is a link that can give you a picture of how to rig..

spin doctors have been pretty popular in Lake Ontario for a few years.  i like to have a few ready to go, but before I start putting loads of flashers into the water, I'll first try running some spoons only behind the rigger ball.   much easier and quicker to rig and sometimes the simple rig is all it takes...but sometimes not!  so be prepared.  just my 2 cents.  i'll be up there 1st weekend of august myself. good luck.  markmonkey

the package will give u a basic idea on how to set one up

i run my fly leaders from 21-24inchs long.. shorter the fly leader the more action its gunna have.. longer will have less

i run most of my paddles on wire divers or copper.. and on my deepest rigger and tight to the ball (5-15ft)
