Happy July 4th from rotator cuff - 7/1/2009 6:38:15 PM

After ripping my rotator cuff up pretty bad and having surgery and 4 pins screwed into my shoulder 5 weeks ago, I finally started to get back into tying a couple of weeks ago. PAINFUL! Anyway I just finished this Atlantic Salmon Classic yesterday - believe me it was a rough one to tie with my shoulder in a sling- my left arm was shaking, ect. It's far from my best - in fact by classic standards it kind of looks sick (head's not right, proportions are off, ect.) but I wanted to tie one for the 4th - take some pics of it and send it off to friends and family. Anyway it was good to be back at it again. Perhaps this post should be in the fly tying section (sorry Mike) but it's just intended to wish all of you a great holiday. This shoulder thing is really driving me nuts. Therapy and more therapy! Thank God it's my left shoulder and not my (right) casting arm! Can't wait till the fall and to get into the water of Elk!

Its a beaut! And even in your state, you've outdone what many here are capable of. Hell, some days, I'm doing good to get the hook in the vise.

Happy 4th.

Had labrum surgery(shoulder, very similar to rot. cuff) two Fridays ago, and I feel your pain.  However, it didn't keep me off the water long.  I've adapted to throwing flies with one arm lol.  Hopefully my surgeon is not a fisherie board member

Jim, Very nice video!!! I was wondering why you asked about uploading a video. After seeing that, I'm going for it! Made up my mind that on Sat. morn. I'm getting the fly rod out and heading to the stream. Thanks buddy - I really needed that! You are the man!
