My blackberry is not acting right.  I think it's tired!  But anyways what i was going to write.  Sorry about the two accounts but that's the only way I could use my blackberry.

There was a break in the action down at dashields dam while the water was high.   Catfish seemed to be a good target last week.  I decided to head down there this afternoon, the worst time to fish in some eyes' .  Managed 2 walleyes one 22.5 and one dink.  3 saugers.   Saugers would hit as the floating jighead and shad would be falling as the eyes' would pick it up off the bottom.

I thought for sure the eyes' made thier summer homes by now, but i was fooled again....  Not surprised as it happens all the time.

Haha this post can't be for real. No way someone talks and types like that. But I'll answer your questions......

1.) People usally fish exactly in the water, or more specificaly in the river water.

2.) We usally catch other fish down there.

This rain is a good thing! Walleye should be holding tight to cover as the river picks up alittle.

To answer your question, sauger, sheephead, catfish (flats and small channels) and if you have it right walleyes. I've had more success on creek chubs and shiners than fatheads and very little action on a crawler.

I've had some luck on a shad rap down there too, just hate losing them tho on all of the sunken debris.

Goodluck get there early or
you'll be fishing down by the beach!

Yesterday wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The eyes shut er down. Managed 8 sauger 1 smallmouth and a catfish. Tried the dam 5am to 11am. Then tried it where I knew there were some riprap and a large flat. Managed a few hits and on large, large for 10# test.
Will have picture later

Another decent day on the ohio. Fished my usual spot with my usual bait (creek chubs). Had a few technical errors like sharp rocks big fish and only 10# test.

Had two hogs (walleye) to the surface only to dive under this 5' x 7' rock that acted like a hot knife and butter. More about that rock later...Managed one eye around 18". Then it died on us so we left about two.

If there is any bass fisherman heading up for upcoming bass tourament. There is a. smallmouth living under this infamous above mentioned rock. While retrieving my bait I was checking to see if had any action left to it on top of 'The rock' and sure enough there he was easily a 5#er had him hit hooked however the rock had it in for me again.

Had fun took the ole man out, I should look into some braid however. They were really working on the chubs for a steady hour then nothing. Water steady for a change, although the barge traffic was up alittle. Don't these guys every take a day off. Ohh well.
