Anyone been hitting the Mon? Been out three times since late April with very limited success. What has been productive has yet to produce this year. It has good color as of today (June 11) in Fayette City area. Any reports from recent trips would be appreciated!

I haven't been out on the Mon yet this year.  I used to do well along the Naomi section, assuming you're in Fayette City.  I liked to use 4"-5" chubs while nightfishing.  I haven't fished the Mon in daytime in a few years, so I'm no help to you there.  I remember shallow running fire tiger cranks catching their fair share of fish during my youth.

went for some smallmouth action near chaleroi a few weeks ago.. not a lot of action.. I like the yough for smallies, but I don't like taking my boat cause how shallow it gets

I made it out last evening. After the pleasure boat traffic died down I saw some surface action near a rocky shoreline in the California area. Tied on a 2 inch Rapala figuring I'd pick up a smallie or two, to my surprise caught 3 walleye (I guess they were surface feeding?) and a huge crappie. Managed two more white bass at that spot. Also picked up a 20"-22" channel cat on a crankbait along shoreline near F.C. firehall (for a few seconds I thought I had a gem of a smallie or 'eye).
