Has anyone been fishing Arthur. I fished today from 6:30 to 9:30. I caught 15 bass. A 16.5"er, 17.5"er, and a 19''er. All I have is a trolling motor right now, but I am looking for a motor for Arthur if anyone has one? So anyone else doing any good?  Timmy

I was out from 9 pm until about 12:45 shore fishing... Seemed pretty quiet where I was at. A few buddies and I caught 8 cats, biggest one was 23" and I lost a bass...

I pushed a pontoon boat off of that flat a few years back.  Guy and his old lady got it beached there.  I drove the whole way over, got out and pushed that barge off the sand and the dude didn't even say thanks.

Shoulda left him there.

I was out from 6am to 10:30am. When I got on the lake I could see the algea settled at the top. Lake was very calm and still yesterday morning.

Hoping it was just the algea. It seemed better later in the day when more boats were out. Just wanted to check as i had to get my feet wet to unstick the boat. Legs haven't melted off and theres no sign of me growin any gills :( so should be good. Someone had mentioned they may have sprayed and i wouldn't know what they would be spraying for or in fact who "THEY" is?

I'm out on the lake every day. I never seen any spraying goin on. But that doesn't mean they are not. Although WHAT they would be spraying would be my concern.

AAAAhhhhhhh yes, the good old Arthur algea blooms.
The lake looks more like green paint than water. Happens every year.

Do the algae blooms have any effect on the fishing? Opinions?

I've wondered the same.  So, here is my opininon...

I'd imagine something small eats it, which is eaten by something and so forth down the food chain.  I know that it makes spotting small surface breaks (bait fish) a bit easier.  Which some times puts you where the game fish are.  I don't think it gets thick enough to choke out oxygen, like you hear about in the Gulf of Mexico.  I've seen small ponds with 20 times as much, and seems to hold fish.  But might get enough to keep some species away?  I'd also assume that it difuses the sun's light, so possibly attracts fish?  I never avoid it or seek it out.
