kyler16 -> REFS at the sunday nite game.... (10/5/2008 11:08:13 PM)

anyone else think the refs are getting out of hand with the personal foul calls like roughing the passer, taunting, unsportting like

RIDICILOUS  playoffs all over again..... didnt the officials already apologize once for screwing up last season?

They're human and make mistakes. It happens in all sports until we get robot officals, which will again call in instant replay judged by humans.

Absolutely horrible. They blew the roughing the passer call on Harrison. They blew the interference call on Taylor in the first half. And the ticky tack unsportsmanlike calls on both teams were ridiculous.
Worst officiated game I have seen in a long time.

True, but you could say the same on the other side if you were a Jags fan. They won anyway, it is a long season.

moore was tits tonite.... now willie parker doesnt have to rush back and take his time... always nice to find out that someone can always fill in. now all they need to do is throw dixon in there for some trick plays.

Washington deserved his, he pointed the ball to their sideline after he caught it.

He's a professional athlete. He needs to carry himself as one. How many kids you think saw that and are doing it at recess today?

The roughing the passer call was some BS.

And even though I don't like rolandburger. He was incredible.

Watching the play in realtime from the sideline view, one of the Jags coaches was right there saying something to Washington or the ref and motioning incomplete at the same time.  Not condoning it at all but I don't think what Washington did was "unsportsmanlike" per se.  Dumb, yes, but I don't think it deserved 15 yards.  If he had done it to a player on the field than I would say yes but he didn't.

Harrison's call was obviously totally bunk and hopefully the ref will get fined for that stupid call.  The call on the late hit of Matt Jones was close, imo.  If that ball wasn't tipped, it would have hit Jones in the side of the head.  At that speed of the game and knowing he was going to dish out some pain, Clark most likely had his head down and eyes probably closed just before impact.  I don't think he could have stopped if he wanted to.  That was probably the closest to a real personal foul and really could have went either way.

The Jags deserved theirs from what I saw.  On a couple plays, they were "blocking/hitting" well after the whistle.  The one taunting play was just that, taunting.  I am sure the ump heard something to go along with the DB standing over Nate Washington for several seconds.  Oh well, we got out with a win and I'll take any win over the Jags.  Ben caused 2 of the 3 sacks I think by holding on to the ball too long instead of just throwing it away.  And, his INT should probably go to Holmes since he stumbled on the timing route.  If he didn't stumble, that was a 18 yd gain.

None.

If those kids have good parents, they should have been in bed when he did that.  Not watching football, late on a school night.

Also I think the Jags d-back probably deserved his...the Ref heard what he said we didn't... No need for that kind of $hit these guys are profesionals.
It never ceases to amaze me that these players would even take the chance of hurting thier team on BS jawing or showboating... stoopid
