ORIGINAL: Screamin Steel Had a guy wade right in front of me while waiting fro fishin time first day of trout a few years back. I had my chest waders but knew therer werer a ton of fish close in front of me and was gonna wait to get in. This jerk jumped right in front of me and sloshed through the hole at 5 mins before 8 am. When I yelled at him, he flipped me the bird and kept going. I promptly pegged him with a nice sized rock( baseball size) right between the shoulder blades and invited him back across to talk about it.. He took off, and never looked back. Granted you were outnumbered, but sometmes all a jerk needs is a lesson in manners. I imagine the guy I ran into thought about it long and hard before he did something like that again. then he pulls out a gun and shoots you. really smart move, imho. yeah, if he's the kind that doesn't take too long to think, he's going to bring a gun along so that next time some a-hole throws a rock at him.... but, let me guess, you're also packing too. so you're not worried. how about you have the gun to protect you, not to back up your stupid actions. violence on the streams does absolutely *nothing* but get people in trouble. with the problems that we as fisherman are facing today with access restricted/private property/etc - we need to educate each other on rules and regs, etiquite, and common decency rather than chuck rocks and start fights.
