ORIGINAL: SmallieKiller First off, Commander, Deadbolt is right, the Penguins have been horribly inconsistent and have stood around and watched leads evaporate in a handful of games. Some of those they held on to win, other's not they were not so lucky. Last night they played an outstanding 3rd period and stole 2 points in Detroit. In the second period, I thought I was watching a Wings practice. The Wings dominated them for the middle 20. So technically they didn't play a full hard 60 in that one either. Deadbolt, stop believing everything you read on the internet. They're not trading Staal for Kovalchuk or Gaborik. Not going to happen. Kovalchuk makes 6 million a year. Staal and Letang combined don't make half of that. And how do you know it's a yinzer wish trade? Colby Armstrong, that's how. "horribly inconsistent" has led to their best start in 12 years. theyre not going to win every game. theyre not going to play stellar every period. theyre going to have ups and downs just like every team in sports. as for suggesting trading staal and now letang , most players their age are still in the minors. theyre very young and are going to have ups and downs. all this talk was the same last year and they ended up in the finals. dissecting every game on what they should or should not have done and trading players all around is not the answer. also, theyre doing this all without whitney and gonchar. no team wins every game and not all players play great or even good every game. theyll be fine.
