For what it is worth, a trip to the lower Elk last year during the first big run was one of my most memorable experiences. Maybe an experience you only want now and then, but a real blast. The fish were absolutely electric when hooked and everyone, I mean hundreds of anglers, were hooking up. Even though we were in eachothers back pockets a lot, no one seemed to mind because of all the activity. There was laughing and wooping and everyone cooperated. I like room on the creeks myself, but experiencing that was worthwhile. Nothing like lots of eager fish to make everyone a whole lot more pleasant to rub elbows with.
