screamin_reels -> Advice for Newbie (10/1/2008 4:47:09 PM)

Can anyone please tell me how I can change my password on this site? Also, how are the streams at walnut, elk, and trout run? I have always read post on here but never registered. Hope to gain good knowledge from some pro's.

pxatim,

Yes I have fished the walnut wall in the past. I was just curious as I heard erie got some decent rain fall.

saltydog -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/1/2008 7:51:49 PM)

biggest piece of advice is to learn all the rules before you go fishing. dont want to look like an idiot out there.

ShutUpNFish -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/1/2008 8:28:27 PM)

Just remember to keep an eye out for the passing boats that go in and out of the marina. [sm=icon16.gif]

Rocky2008 -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/2/2008 10:21:37 AM)

yes cause they dont always blow thier horns coming and going..dont want to lose any lures to boat props...

fishON4Me -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/2/2008 12:27:46 PM)

I understand. Why has there been a huge debate about this?

fishON4Me -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/2/2008 12:47:47 PM)

Seems like everyone is made at me for talking about that a while ago. Just had a bad day. Asking for forgivness as I just began steelhead fishing and want to learn more. I did not know there was signs posted or it was a law. I now know and will obey. Sorry again for any remarks or rude comments.

screamin_reels -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 2:43:30 PM)

Anyone having any luck in the bay for steelie's? I never fished the bay for them but heard they do get on up in there. Let me know. Thanks.

anadromous -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 4:00:31 PM)

Presque Isle????????????

screamin_reels -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 5:53:20 PM)

yes sorry Presque Isle and/or the Bayfront highway area...South/North Pier...Pretty much the bay in general.

saltydog -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 6:38:49 PM)

have you gone and checked it out for yourself?

my advice. go to presque isle bay. take two rods. rig rod one for steelhead. rig rod two for panfish. cast both in the water on presque isle. catch fish.

elephanthead -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 7:01:26 PM)

Screamin, please realize everyone has probably been stung once or maybe even twice by a Fisherie Troll. So, if you are in fact for real, excuse some of the comments. Everything you need to know has been posted on here before at length. At the top of the fisherie discussion boards are some very good threads and on the sidebars some good pointers ( I would suggest you read them and then get to know some folks in person - a good start would be the annual banquet this saturday @ shades beach - introduce yorself by your screen name, we don't bite) Well, most of us don't.   Dave

screamin_reels -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 7:12:31 PM)

saltydog,

thanks for the info. That actually sounds like a good idea. The only thing is I like to cast spoons and other spinners for steelies and since I heard the bay is still full of weeds I do not want to loose a ton of tackle. I was actually down at the bay today and saw a guy snagged. I know this can happen any where but not sure if I want to try it out and lose my tackle. When does the bay clear from weeds? Is it when it gets like 30 degrees out?

elephanthead,

Who or what is a Fisherie Troll? What comments are you talking about. A  little confused with your post. I was actually debating on heading to the banquet with a couple buddies this Saturday. Not sure yet though. If not, have a great time.

elephanthead -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 7:24:37 PM)

Screamin, sorry, guess you didn't get the direction this thread was going. Troll = someone who wastes others time by leading them on in a thread. And I suppose there are many other definitions for troll. As I said, the banquet is a good place to start meeting and learning info that otherwise you won't get on here until folks get to know you. Too many wolves in sheeps clothing on this site. (they come and go).  Many are reluctant to post certain things for the world to see and it's all been said before and it's all in the thread at the top. Everything you need to know about steelhead fishing in erie.  Dave

griffon -> RE: Advice for Newbie (10/7/2008 7:26:41 PM)

Generally Trolls do not disclose their profiles on a web board.  At least most people who log on for real do give some sort of data out.  If nothing else, it allows for private messaging from one member to another rather than spoonfeeding.  By the way, I noticed you came on right about the time a troll disappeared for the most part and you don't seem to have disclosed any of your profile.

I would also say that if you have the ability to look up others posts and profiles on this board after only a couple of posts of your own, I have a feeling you know full well what a Troll is.

I'm not accusing... I'm just saying.[8|]

Thanks Mike, that's what I meant to say.  LOL     Dave
