dare i say it?..........."and so it begins(for the most part)"[:D]

pxatim -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 6:22:01 PM)

Sounds good.... but I'll believe it when it happens. We need more than just a few days of showers

seejib -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 6:23:04 PM)

The forcast has been getting better as the day goes on!!  Lets hope there wrong and we get a gully washer cause 60% chance of rain isn't going to get the streams up. We need 2-3 inches in a 2 day soaker to make some real difference in the tribs!!

catchinfish -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 6:54:56 PM)

Absolutely.  I was up there Saturday and a shower here and there won't do a thing.  We need some substantial soaking rain for days to really get the creeks back up to a normal level.

kyler16 -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 7:24:10 PM)

we need the streams to be blown out for a day or so.

ShutUpNFish -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 7:59:06 PM)

You have to wait for the NOAA to forecast complete sunshine and beautiful weather....THEN is when we will probably get what we need.....THAT has been their consistancy this year![8|]

MackJ -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 8:03:53 PM)

Seems to me any amount of rain will be a help to the situation.  Don't be greedy, a full inch over two or three days will cause quite a few hundred fish to move.

dont gas up the wagon just yet.

smallhook -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 8:47:41 PM)

Maybe the fish will up to route 5 by this weekend, yippee...  We sure could use a good blowout though.  I love watchin the World Series in Erie hotel rooms or in an Erie Bar.

chrisrowboat -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 9:33:03 PM)

waiting could use a rain day

Loopy -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 9:51:34 PM)

Just remember how fast they will come down.  It'll be awhile before the streams will hold water.

kyler16 -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/29/2008 10:51:18 PM)

Yea also when there is snow on the ground I never worry bout stream conditions unless there is a thaw or rain.

Screamin Steel -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 3:10:27 AM)

Wish Erie would have got what we got in the Harrisburg, York, Lanc area over the weekend. I belive we got nearly 3 inches. Our creeks were muddy and overflowing, but it looks like you got next to nothing up there. :(

schlemoc -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 8:17:52 AM)

We just got a slight rain here.  It lasted for about 3 hours I think.  I was half asleep so that's just what I noticed while dozing in and out.

seejib -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 11:37:00 AM)

Serious dude!!  It has been raining off and on all morning in Meadville and it was raining steady when I left North East this morning. I think we might have better flow by the weekend. We do need it to rain for days to make a big diff. there are some trees down that will make it hard for anykind of run. But I can't say where they are because that would be spot burning and that is illegal here. So those making a long trip, I guess your s.o.l. with any real reports.

Keep us posted throughout the week if you don't mind on how it looks.  I have a trip planned for the 11th and need to make the call by Friday of whether to make the trip or not.  It looks like this rain won't be enough to make a difference.

Mikastorm -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 8:09:26 PM)

Bro, that's 6 days from Friday to the 11th

a lot of things can change between  then.

You mean if they "don't" get any significant  rain by Friday  you won't be up?

I am in! I miss the signing up for the one fly but i will be there to learn from the pro's......

bjkaledas -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 8:34:12 PM)

Yeah, I have to let work know a week in advance that I won't be taking days off and if there isn't rain by then, it would be a gamble to take the days off.  Yes, they could be low again in the 6 days that follow, but it looks like there is rain in the forecast for next week too.

well said loopy bottom line

Screamin Steel -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 9:49:22 PM)

The doppler radar must be lying. I watched a large amount of yellow and red slam right into Erie this afternoon. Either that or the geniuses at Poor Richards hacked into the Weather Channel database again, sending up fake signals, like the fake grail image in Monty Python. Question is, who of the steel knights is buying it, and headed north in a cloud of dust?

joedv1218 -> RE: RAIN! ! ! (9/30/2008 9:57:03 PM)

I'll be there this weekend, but everyone else should go bow hunting, cause the fishin will probably be bad.
