Caught a few in the lake last year tossing a sassy shad on a 1/8 jig head. Some jugs I was using for sauger and walleye on the Allegheny river.

That's not a strange antic. There's an old guy wo fishes on 12 mile -
(even older than me!) who use nothing but pipe cleaner. He rubs power
bait on them, and uses different colors. I've used them, red, pink, chartreuse, to make a quick egg sucker out of a black or purple wooly.
Just twist around the head and cut to size.

LOL. Guess what? That's exactly the fly I caught one on about 7 years ago, right below the power line on Elk. One other one was on a big sulfer (sz10) about 25 yards downstream from there.

yeah I couldnt believe it when I saw it. I remember reading somthing about a guy who was at the manchester dry fly fishing and caught a few on the skate with an Adams. Mine was actually in relativley fast water...I totally wasn't expecting a rise but it was definetly pretty cool. Did you actually land ur fish on the dry?

I saw some guys using hot dogs for bait up at Olcott Marina. I did not see them catching anything, but I did talk to them and they said that they always used hot dogs for steelheads. They weren't even all beef.

While cleaning some perch, I noticed the egg and milt sacs forming and figured if sucker spawn works, why not perch?? It did, but they broke me off - wrong size & style hooks I figure - somewhat messy, but they'd grab it!
