Shoulda thought twice about the name change.  In order to wear  Ocho Cinco on the back of his jersey, he must first pay Reebok for all the produced jerseys with C. Johnson on them.  100,000 jerseys x $40/ =
$4,000,000.00.

What an idiot!

Not if you get the knockoff authentics.  Real enough for me and only 25-50.  Anyone even paying 100 for the jerseys does not have their priorities straight.  Cant believe how many people I saw buy the throwback steeler jerseys from last year.  Hideous and at the price they were selling them some may call it fandom, I call it financial stupidity.

Kind of funny when you think about it what about are you gonna do. Chad Johnson Is Chad Johnson, still right? Even being a Steelers fan I think he's a really funny guy & was hoping he'd leave the horrible Bengals over the off season. Oh well.. It'll work itself out. In the end he'll probably end up wearing the ocho cinco.

I kinda hope he gets traded or waived soon...and that the team he goes to wont let him wear 85...that'd be priceless.

see your missing your point on this

reebok doesnt sale the knock offs so what reebok charges 79-250 is what 8 and 5 will owe per jersey.

plus the moron dosnt know spanish 85 is ochenta y cinco while ocho cinco is 8 and 5.

I am not defending him at all.  I think he is an A$$hole, but if a woman played in the NFL and got married, do you think they would in a million years ask her not to change her name or pay for the old jerseys?

Do they expect every player that ever gets traded will pay for all his old jerseys before he goes to his new team?

Coulda been worse.  You could have built your entire team around a certain dominant QB, then watched your season go up in flames in the first half of the first game in the first week.  Ocho Stinko only need 2 points in the next 16 weeks to outscore Brady for the year.

I had Nate Burleson also...insult to injury.

Didn't cost Koby Bryant a dime when he changed his jersey number tho. Wonder what they did with all his other jerseys? Maybe Johnson thought that, that move would get him the trade he wants. He's tried just about everything else hasn't he. I find him to be hilarious with his antics. And he is a heck of a good receiver. Who wants to play for a prison team? And ownership is truley a joke.

Reebok should take the highroad here and donate all these jerseys to a third world country that needs clothing and that would help them two fold.  First off they can get the make the money off the new Ocho Cinco jerseys and secondly it will give them a more favorable world appearance.

The fact that a Reebok can control someones name is sickening.  He wen't through the United States Legal system and legally changed his last name from Johnson to Ocho Cinco.  I'd tell Reebok to F-off.  They're losing money without his new shirts on the shelves, not him.

Maybe reebok should look at the character of the athletes who's jerseys they print a little closer.

I'm not sure what changing your name has to do with one's character.  As far as loud mouth receivers go, I actually like Chad Johnson, mainly because he knows when to shut up.  If the Bengals are losing, you don't hear a peep from him.  He's not spiteful and doesn't single out other players in a truly negative way.  Yes, I know he had the list, but he even said it's all in good fun and if I recall, when they started losing games, he stopped filling it out and dropped it.

So he wants to legally change his name.  So he's a little off the wall and eccentric.  I still think it's BS that Reebok has any say in this what so ever.  If there is still anyone out there who thinks the NFL is anything other than a business, take a good look at this.

Ryan Clark wanted to change his number to Sean Taylor's old number, as a tribute to his dead friend.  Taylor was good friends with Clark.  The NFL and Reebok told him NO.  Unless he bought all the Ryan Clark jerseys in their warehouse.

Ridiculous.

I agree 100% with this part (even though I think the guy is an A$$ and a cancer in the locker room, which is why I like him in another locker room in the division).

Like I said earlier, what would they do to a woman?
I wonder what they would have done to Cassius Clay?

I can't believe anyone would think this idiot jack*ss chad johnson is the least bit funny.  He tries to be funny and get attention, but soon everybody will be laughing at him and not with him just like that fool Freddie Mitchell who started to make an ass out himself with Philly leading up to the superbowl against the Pats a few years ago.  He's just another guy with some talent who's team would be way better off without him.  For some reason, the media is scared to death to say anything bad about him and continue to giggle at every little stupid thing he does.  Last week during the steeler game, Randy Cross FINALLY said something about being tired of hearing all the crap about the bengals and let him know when they actually do something on the football field.  Hopefully someone else will get the balls to call this idiot out, maybe Mark Schlereth, he may be the only one with the balls to do it.

I'm sure there's not too many Ryan Clark jerseys though.

Rbk isin't really in the wrong here. I think all players somehow or another signed a form covering this. It's a shame, but why should RBK loose money because some guy wants to change his name?

Kobe's number change was eased in, everyone knew about it. You think he'd pull that outta nowhere what all the publicity he's gotten in the past?

And the bungles wouldn't be better off without Chad Johnson, I like the guy. I think he's a riot. But he's also one hell of a receiver.

Personally I think he brings something exciting and funny to the game that I haven't seen since way back when. Also he is kind of funny, when he wear Ocho Cinco ESPN followed him to the post office where he mailed the fine to the NFL early, haha. And also he has alot of talent. Talented wide reciever to say the least..

At least the dolphins tried to win last year and want to win this year.  They don't have bozo's to put up with like chad johnson.  Not to mention, did anyone else hear about carson palmer going on and on about how bad he hates ohio state and tressel, how he wants USC to crush OSU, and all the talk of the buckeyes he has to hear from living and playing in Ohio.  I'm not sure why he elaborated so much about that when his team is in disarray.  I dislike both teams, but it would be nice to see OSU win and get their first loss to PSU.

Carson Palmer is from USC. Why would he root for OSU? I'm a Pitt fan. PSU sucks. They wont play Pitt anymore. PSU is turning into the Bengals, if you know what i mean.

Pitt looses to Bowling Green LMAO

Penn State Blows costal carolina out of the water

Pitt barely beats buffalo

Penn State scores more in the first half the pitt has all year against a decent Organ State.

Pitt blows dave wanstead is a moron
yes joe paterno is past his time and is the reason psu and pitt wont play again

but atleast psu has coaches that know which plays to call at the right time and dont loose games to weaker teams such as bowling green.

Pitt players don't get arreseted weekly
Penn State players get arrested in large groups nightly

Pitt tried to continue the rivalry
Penn State and their senile coach ended it

Pitt won the final game of the rivalry
Penn State didn't

Pitt has 11 national championships
Penn State has 2

pitt didnt want to be involved in the big east conference.... WHAT IS PITT IN NOW?  thats why paterno doesnt want to play them anymore.

Also its pitts fault the contract theyve been working on is pitt wants 2 home to penn states one because pitt knows those games will fill the stadium every time!

yes paterno is senile but dont blame psu for that its just as much pitts fault if not more.

I know plenty of pitts football and basketball players who have cause fights at frat parties, busted with drugs and caught being drunk.... Pitt football isnt on the same level as psu thats why it isnt reconized.

oh yea PITT GET YOUR OWN FOOTBALL STADIUM.

I said I don't know why he had to elaborate on the subject like he did.  He has enough to worry about with the NFL team he QB's and the idiots like chad johnson who are turning the organization into a joke.  I can just see chris berman this weekend giggling like a school girl at every little thing johnson does.  hehehe hahaha.
