Invicta -> North Fork Reservoir??? (9/3/2008 2:14:26 PM)

Does anybody know anything about the North Fork Reservoir in Somerset County?  Is it privately owned?  Can you fish there or not?  I just happened across it while looking at google earth, looks like it would be a good place to fish.

Its nonfishing, its some water authoritys land, it has an old guy whose the care taker that lives on the one side of the dam near the church.

Its very very low always this time of year. Ive seen people fish the back end of it when its not low. there are some no swimming and fishing signs up but they have been there for years.

I fished there as a kid late 1970's parents would drop us off and pick us up 5 -6 hrs later. Also fished the creek flowing into it for natives. I dont remember catching anything in the creek though...There was also another creek we fished for natives and we did catch them in there We always called it millcreek it was just outside westmont past the rd to westmont hilltop high school. I dont know the rt # but the road would end up in Ligoineer if you stayed on it from westmont.

That route would be 271.

North Fork is posted, water authority property.

Once, I had the opportunity to view the spillway.  I saw very large, pike shaped fish.  I wasn't close enough to make out any markings.

I have seen people swim and fish there.  If one were so inclined, they could make an attempt.

Yes the lake was posted then in the late 70's I don't rember if the creek area was posted or not. I am sure that is also water company land. That was a nice looking creek.

Ah...the caretaker if that is the same guy from the 70's he must be old now cause he seamed old to us back then.

its right off the somerset pike just before you make the turn to go to jim and jimmy's, heading south, you can fish of the bridge but a lot of people fish it still at night i've only herd that the caretaker asks you to leave if you get caught

mill creek is the creek that flows into the Bens creek behind he bp, but you are correct it begins up behind the old picken chicken.

The small feeder steam for northfork is good native stream but its even better way up in the mountain behind my hunting camp.
