Sidepoint- Can anyone recommend a good vest with many pockets?  Hint- Dont bother with Gander Mountain vests, zippers and seems go on every one within a year.  Tried 2.  2nd one was the last.
Come on Joe.............You know you cant quit the Gander Mtn. vest.

I finally upgraded to a William Joeseph pack this spring.  It was about time too, I couldn't figure out why my back was sore after every outting.  My old vest had way too many pockets and everyone of them was packed to the brim.  The chest pack really helped me cut down my gear I carry with me.  I am down to 2 C&F boxes, a shot dispenser, 3 spools of tippet in appropriate sizes, and a few indicators in the front pouches.  In the back I have a couple extra spools of tippet, extra shot dispenser, another fly box, a bottle of some type of liquid (usually water), and gloves and a hat if the weather dictates.  I have nippers and forceps hanging in the front and a net on my back.  This is honestly about half the weight as what I had been carrying around in my old vest for years.  Hopefully it is not too late to restore my back.

I like the orvis Original Super Tac-L-Pak Vest. You can see it online at

http://www.orvis.com/store/productchoice.aspx?pf_id=1835&dir_id=758&group_id=781&cat_id=5138&subcat_id=6037

Comfortable, lots of pockets of variable size for storing lots of fishing equipment. I will likely be at the steelhead picnic if you want to take a look.

i have what is now the battenkill pro vest.  same price as years ago, only difference, mine was made in the u.s.  the other is like the super tac-l-pac.  i use this for wading for smallmouth and walleye on inland lakes and stuff it to the point that my back hurts too.  someday i will learn.

To Pro Angler.  Someone gave me a 'photographers vest' some years ago. It is loaded with pockets, zip and valcro and has a horizontal rear pocket.  Ain't saying this is the best thing going but I sure carry a lot of stuff in it! Downside:It can get pretty heavy.
