Yuppers, thats the place. Was a nice little cove with a feeder stream and away from the masses. Only time I kept trout out of there was if my friends dad wanted some to eat or for trapping bait. In the mid 90's we threw hundreds of trout back into that place.

I was at the lake about 1 or 2 years ago, after not being there since the 1970s.  WHAT A DISGRACE!  The place is a pig sty.

oldesckool, what are you used to fishing, Alaska? Considering how much use it gets I'd say it's a wonderful and fairy clean lake. Maybe instead of bitching about it being a "pig sty" you could bring a garbage bag & make it in your eyes a better place. There's a fair (if not above average) amount of trout both lakes hold even in Summer. Like I said where have you been fishing?!

my name is justen and i am a fisherman that has been visiting the lakes since i was a child. i work for a company in mars pa called sub-technical inc. we have a permanent and viable solution to save hereford manor, through the use of poly-urethane grout. the company has a long successful track record of projects of this size magnitude. if you so wish please check out our website at sub-technical.com. keep in mind that this post was not intended as a advertisement for my employer, nor a solicitation for bussiness. i am a local that resides in harmony and would hate for the area to loose such a wonderful set of lakes. i am just putting my opinion out there because i know sub-technicals process will be successful.

Does anyone know if they stocked already at Hereford???  I've been hearing that they did although the fish commission web site calls for it to be in November.  If the hit reports I'm getting are correct and they HAVEN'T stocked, it's gonna be fuuuuuun once they do.

Make enough noise, and maybe they'll throw some funding at it to see if they can correct the problem.  Hmmm, wonder if the fabled sturgeon would qualify as an endangered species?  The possibility alone of an endangered or threatened species is usually enough to put the breaks on any construction / demolition project.  Speaking from experience...

Yup there are carp in there. The lower lake right of the parking area. where the drainage goes under the road to the wee muck pond.

Went out this morning.  A few people fishing along the parking lot for bass and trout.  Not much happening.  Went to the far end past the stump and nothing doing.  Worked my way back around and finally got into fish across from the parking lot where you have to walk in from the road.  Seemed like most of the fish movement was in that cove.

Lake is about 5 feet lower than usual, and of course the roads are locked up for the winter.

I guess they're stocking it this week. I haven't been fishing much. Not much time between running a trapline and working. By theh time I get off work my wee ass is dragging.

They stocked it today, although the stock truck did break down, and they later stocked at 3.

Talking to some guys, uhh, and Frank, seemed like everyone was disapointed. For the most part the average trout was 9-10 inches. The biggest I'd seen was a 15, and also a 12. Doesn't even compare to the last couple stockings..
