Sorry for the response to Jonny, fellas.

He has a major hatred for me and follows me around from board to board. My original statement about Formerguides info was meant to help reinforce his goodwill towards other fellow fishermen out to possibly catch a fish of a lifetime this upcoming year. However, Jonny ruined it and took it to the dumpster where he lives, breathes, and loves. Sad that things like this are posted, but Jonny has no pride. He is a scum sucking wannabe New Yorker who lives in New Jersey(has no local identity) and is also a racist of a high order. He should not be worthy of standing by your side this fall in the tribs.

If you see him and he identifies himself, shun this Nazi. We are not the kind of group to accept racists.

Get over yourself. Cant take rejection can you. Anyway, lets keep the honey holes quite. Let people find them, and make them their own.

jonny,

I think you made your point known about 4 pages ago.  However, the more you make it known, the more enemies you seem to make along the way.  You may want to stop reinforcing your point, but again, its entirely up to you.  We all know where you stand on the issue.

"We are all on an even playing field...."  This little quote of misinformation is what makes much of what was posted a mere self-serving plea for others to behave the way that is most convenient to the poster.  Since you invited dissenting views, I will oblige:

1.  If you aren't local and have questions about how far the fish have run, how high the creeks are, how muddy they are or how crowded certain spots are, feel free to post such questions.  Expect to hear a bunch of moaning from mostly local folks, but there is a chance that one or two helpful souls will tell you exactly what you'd like to know to help make your trip more enjoyable.

2.  If you have information to help another angler, feel free to post it to help him, her and others.  Expect to hear a bunch of moaning from mostly local folks, but there is a chance you will help a lot of people have a more enjoyable experience.

3.  If you encounter someone on the stream who is less knowledgable than you, don't feel the need to post about the idiot tourist you saw yesterday, belittling them and others with little experience, while in reality only seeking to make yourself look more the "expert."

Can this be a "sticky" too?

MackJ you hit the nail on the head.  First of all, the post by formerguide will be long forgotten about in a month or two from now and the same questions will be asked again and again.  Secondly, how hard is it to scroll through the questions that are 'asked too often'?  I mean, all you do is scroll past them, it doesn't take alot of manual labor to do that.  I fish for steelhead as often as I can, definately not every day or as often as I'd like, but anybody with any kind of question feel free to post and I'll answer it as accurately as possible.  Or should I use the most over used word on this board 'spoonfeed'.  Or maybe 'troll'.  MackJ has been anything but a 'troll' with his reply to this topic.

I'll continue to play the game.  I'm not sure if this post was started to help people or get the beehive in a frenzy, but I'll play along.  Erie will be packed the first sign of any fish regardless of what's on this board.  People will ask questions regardless of this thread.  A couple weeks later, there will be a ton of fish upstream and the lower ends near the mouth will still be crowded as hell.  A couple weeks later we'll be cleaning up everywhere.  Same ole' same ole'.  I have seen posts on here of guys who talk of having very long drives and maybe one day to go fishing get their brains bashed in for asking a question as simple as "are the fish up to route 5 yet"?  So what's all this nonsense giving up information about fishing on private property or spoonfeeding.  What are you doing fishing on private propery anyhow?  Same ole' same ole'.

Cooler-

Uh, it would behoove you to have your facts in order before posting- almost ALL of the property we fish on, as well as access, is on private property, and due to the goodwill of private landowners. Where do you think you've been fishing all of this time, BLM land? Nonsense? Again, hard to be pursuasive when your facts are 100% wrong from the get-go...

"Same ole' same ole'" sic? Might be, but it's still vital to the future of our sport...

Dan
