Hm...I'll hafta think on that, I'll get back to you by Monday, at the latest.

Still, I'm not feeling terribly comfortable just yet.  Yahoo's projections start off hazy at best, getting more and more accurate throughout the season.  For example, look at Maroney.  He's projected for 15 points, but I'll smile if he gets 2/3 of that.  I dont really judge the strength of my team till week 5 at the earliest, and even then, crazy things can happen.  Two years ago, one of my teams was 2-3 by week 5...went on a 9 game tear, and lost in the championship game (barely), for a final regular season record of 11-3, overall of 13-4.

What makes this year tough is all the preseason injuries, typically you are used to dealing with them when the season starts, but due to suspensions and injuries there are a lot more unknowns (especially at reciever) this year.

Agreed.  Add in the fact that many teams are getting into more of a committee backfield and the rushing situation gets very hard to do in fantasy.  It makes much more sense in terms of the actual teams, but it can give a fantasy player headaches!

I just love how they'll rank one guy high, but then project them with a low point total...

yeah that one makes me laugh as well. we could easily do the same job as those so-called fantasy experts while continuing in what we all currently do. I wonder what kind of pay they get?

I always get a chuckle out of the old guy on ESPN with the head that barely protrudes from his suit. He loses more hair everytime I see him.

What I liked when FFball first started was the the "analyists" would take chances and make bold predictions, because what the hell?  Its, only fantasy.....Now it's such a big business I honestly think that some of the fantasy analysts think they are more important than thge regular crews.

This leauge should be fun I haven't played in about 5 years....here is a list of the hottest players by position, the last time I played

RB
Marshall Faulk and then when he was hurt
Trung Candidate
Jamal Anderson
QB
Rich Gannon (honest to god he won the leauge for me by throwing for 4 tds in week 16)
Trent Green

WR
Marvin Harrison
Issac Bruce

TE
Tony Gonzales
Jay Riemersma

I picked up trung candidate within minutes of faulk getting hurt and that is what really did it, because my closest competitor had faulk who ended up done for the season.

what a great week 1. Cleveland looked like shi11. The Steelers played well against an average team. Run Wee Willie Run!!! Cleveland looked like shi11. Brady done for the year, LOL. Cleveland looked like shi11. I won all 3 of my fantasy games. Should of played Mike Turner. Did I mention Cleveland played like SHI11.

Well, the two leagues that I was heavily favored in (this and another)...both turned into losses for me, thank you Brees.

On the flipside, in the other three leagues, where it was supposed to be a close matchup, I came out ahead.  Thankfully, my low scorers were more flukes than anything, and Maroney has big, big upside now.

didnt think of that but when I looked seems turner and jones-drew are both on a bye week 7.

Well the season is early but the point race is on as the top four teams square off. Can the wooly buggers pull it off to take over first place from the favored 1 point fighters. Will Drew Brees produce again and what will happen with Moss now that Brady is out. Can Donovan stay healthy again this week and shine. We shall have to wait until monday night for the answer. Hey T.O. can u overdose or something already. I didnt really mean that. Peterson should produce and Johnson has huge upside. Gore and johnson will really need to man up to compete well for the fighters this week.

steel curtain squares off against the tacklebusters. CURTAIN appears to be banking on Warners arm to come through as he faces a possible mvp candidate in Romo. Barber is hurt but should play through unless Dallas wants to see what Jones can do this week. Forte is coming off a solid week and looked more like a vet than a rookie. Time will tell. Can  the tandem of Addai and Lynch score some serious fantasy points for Tackle. I believe yes. Curtain seems to have the edge in the wr department. Ocho-cinco is living in T.O.s head right now.

As for the rest of the scrubs good luck!

I was looking over the matchups for the week and voting on the winner for each.  I think the toughest game to call is The Cold Ones Vs. The Trolls

Here is the matchup

Manning (IND) @ Minnesotoa          Vs.           Cassel (NE)   @ NY Jets          advantage     Manning?

Colston (NO) @ Washington   Vs.            Galloway (TB)   /  Atlanta        Advantage     Colston

Williams (Det)  @ Green Bay   Vs.           Johnson  (Det)   @ Green Bay   Advantage        coin flip

Evans (Buf)    @ Jacksonville    Vs.          Brown (Phi)       @ Dallas        Advantage        coin flip

Tomlinson (SD) @ Denver         Vs.         Westbrook (Phi)  @ Dallas        Advantage       coin flip

Morris (NE)      @NY Jets          Vs.        Stewart (Car)      / Chicago      Advangage   (morris splits time, stewart plays Chi)   coin flip

Winslow (Cle)  /  Pittsburgh       Vs.        Miller (Pit)       @ Cleveland      Advantage      Coin flip

Dallas kicker vs. Philly               Vs.        Cincy kicker vs.  Ten.              Advantage Dallas kicker

Tennesee D vs. Cincy              Vs.          Dallas D vs.  Philly                  Advantage Tennesee D

I might watch this matchup more than my own team.....very interesting

P.S.  Did anyone else buy the StatTracker?

yeah I purchased the tracker, I like to glance at the computer as the scores change throughout the day. Makes the day that much more fun. Then my wife cant say I just sat on the couch all day.

Will have to agree with u on the match-up of the week. It really is anyones league to win as long as they choose the right players each week. we all have really good talent being a league of 8.

Thanks to all for joining up. Look forward to seeing how this league plays out.

So I had a bad week 1...for now I've got to trust that I've got a solid team (with what are quite possibly the #1 running back AND the new #1 quarterback).

One thing I like here is that the trades and offers are reasonable.  I've gotten so many stupid offers from guys in other leagues that I cant even remember them all.  Also, so far, it seems we dont have any shufflers, who have 14 roster changes every week, and none of their original players except maybe 2 in their final team.

WHAT A PILE OF HORSE $HIT!!!!!!!!!  ACMaul has been trying to get M Jones-Drew from me since the draft............... We finally get a trade worked out and you whiny Pricks veto it?  This is exactly the kind of crap I was warned about in yahoo leauges.

I guarantee not one of you whiny owners would have complained about this trade before week 1.

I see the gloves are off, don't a single one of you expect to get a trade passed my veto, regardless of who is involved.

Unless a trade is obviously a team dumping players, then a veto is either used by a chicken or a cheat.

Besides, you can talk it over, figure things out, and still make the trade.  I know I vetoed one last year...it was my own trade and that was the only way to get out of it.  Perhaps acmaul changed his mind...or got a better offer?

send the trade again, I clicked veto when I was used to clicking approve, they changed it since last season they used to have approve or veto against.

My bad

personally i felt it was a crazy trade.

turner pretty much the lone back for the falcons
while jones drew is platooning with taylor

Idk about that...Turner got IIRC 29 touches and Norwood got 18 or so.  Certainly not as even as Taylor (10) and J-D (9), but it's still a platoon by strict defenition.
