haha yeah thanks alot.. I'm gonna go down tonight and the susky's gonna be elbow to elbow ROFL!!!! thanks for the laugh.

Yeah it'd be really tough to get around on a boat now. Unless you have a 12' with a 25hp jet. Some places would be tough to get back up though with a canoe. It doesn't look like it but that current is moving pretty good. It's decieving. We caught 2 26" walleye so far this year. Tons of smallies and gills but no pike. I love clarks creek.... I only fish the C & R fly fishing only section though.

Not sure when I'll get to Erie... I may have to spend a month on an offshore drilling platform doing inspection work. Go figure it'll be in september and october.

But I'll make it up eventually... hope to share a stretch of water sometime.

pxatim,  Well don't foregt the "One Fly"  one Columbus day weekend  (saturday)  If this year turns out to be as good as the last we'll have a blast.  Lots of good food, pretty decent prizes, some good people who help out in numerous ways, and some great fishermen (and women)

D-nymph,
Be sure to watch for the "sign-up" roster that I will post sometime in Sept.  If you want meor info just search One Fly in the archives of this site.

I've read all about it, saw the pictures form the last two years.  I had expected to go last year, but some B.S., "I don't remember what at this point", type of thing prevented me from going last year.  This year, should be different.  At least, I hope to attend.  And fully expect to be "first out" of the competition.

pxatim,
Oddly enough we DO have a prize for the 1st out! We ask that each competitor bring an extra fly of the same type he will be using and all the extra flies are put into a fly box for the "1st Out" as a consolation prize.  I'm even thinking about having a special prize for everyone who keeps their one fly on for the whole time.  Anything to make it more interesting.

UPDATE:

Well it looks like I've been blessed with a few free days this weekend, so I'm planning to make a trip up with my one good fishin' buddy.  We're planning on heading up Friday afternoon and coming back Saturday.  Looking to do alot of exploring and a little fishing.  I'm thinking we ought to hit the Elk & Walnut mouths...any other suggestions?

Also, I've read the campground section of the threads here...anyone have any particularly good or bad experiences with any of them?  We'll be doing tent camping.

Cold,
Try Folley's End  Campground..  Don't overlook the mouths of the other streams.  E-mail me.  The "One Fly" rules are posted.

Thanks for the tip!  I think at $15 per night (tent site, no hookups, one overnight, two guys), that's a reasonable fee for a place to crash after a long day of driving and fishing.

Folley's is a very nice place but the only thing is that if they get some rain it can get kinda wet for tenting

if you want to have some fun and don't care what you catch try upper elk above I-79 (Mckean whole)

koa in mckean is nice prices are high but they do have cabins
