how far is the sr from oak orchard?? we have a trip planned for oak orchard on sept.29 30 and the 1st, but it doesnt seem like theres half as many fish there right now as there is at the sr. and it not looking like rain for awhile. is there enough fish at the river to make the extra couple hour trip to hook some big fish?? never hooked a king before i want to make sure i am going to have some action.

It's worth it if you find some Kings.
Of coarse there's the matter of getting one to smack your offering also. This matter sometimes is a difficult chore.

I did the trek last November..........it was about 3 hours......but I didn't take any main roads and most of it was 45 MPH zones through tiny towns..........I was awake for like 36 hours straight.............drove from PA to Oak Orchard---fished all day........drove to SR......there is one road that takes you almost the entire way.......I can't even guess what road it was without looking on a map

There's been a steady stream of kings and cohos moving up the river for the past week or so, but hooking them is another matter.
The trip is a couple hours, the easiest way is to take the thruway east to 81 north. You can also take 104 east to the end, which will take you over the Oswego river and put you a couple miles east of Altmar, where you can start working downstream to Pulaski.

True, but traffic into town is usually better on 13 than 104. Besides, everyone should have the experience of being surprised by an amish buggy as you round the curves at happy valley.
