The FBI is investigating Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers and AIG -- and their executives -- as part of a broad look into possible mortgage fraud, sources said. An FBI spokesman said 26 firms are currently under investigation as part of the bureau's mortgage fraud inquiry,

I wonder how much this "investigation" is gonna cost the tax payers. And after Lord knows how much, they'll come up with the same answer that 90% of the American public could've told them......"WE WAS ROBBED!!!!"

Yeah, the FBI will bust them and they'll get a whopping 15 months in a minimum security federal retreat.  Meanwhile, they won't have to forfeit any of their assets.

enron, kmart, the savings and loans, and a continued succession of greed, manipulation, and indifference to ethics.  this is the biggest threat to our society.  it causes wars, it trickles down to all classes who want more and more.  when is it enough?

have to laugh, but there are ceos who make more in a couple of days than i do in a year.  aint gonna buy them one extra minute on this planet and they will have a whole lot more to answer for someday.   sometimes having less is much better.  i sleep good at night knowing i have not intentionally hurt or robbed anyone.

Quality of life over quantity. We sleep better also. Ain't the richest, not the poorest, don't care about what the "Jones's" down the street have,  but we got what really counts...

I still can't comprehend how CEO's walk away with pretty nice packages even if their company goes under.

The best way to rob a bank is not with a gun, it is with a brief case.  These bums knew exactly what they were doing.

Anyone remember this from the movie "Wallstreet"

Gordon Gekko: Teldar Paper, Mr. Cromwell, Teldar Paper has 33 different vice presidents each earning over 200 thousand dollars a year. Now, I have spent the last two months analyzing what all these guys do, and I still can't figure it out. One thing I do know is that our paper company lost 110 million dollars last year, and I'll bet that half of that was spent in all the paperwork going back and forth between all these vice presidents. The new law of evolution in corporate America seems to be survival of the unfittest. Well, in my book you either do it right or you get eliminated. In the last seven deals that I've been involved with, there were 2.5 million stockholders who have made a pretax profit of 12 billion dollars. Thank you. I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a liberator of them! The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.

No kidding...the average Joe who has worked at the company for 15 years loses his job with a two week pay severance package if that, but the CEO who ran the company for 3 years leaves with 22 million...

C'mon Over the Hill, that doesn't make sense to you
