Do you have a cabin at stoney's? We were there last year. It's not a bad place and Stoney seems pretty cool. You can drive back in the field behind the campground and hit the river there if you want. The big run should start tomorrow since they are raising the river to 750cfs. Good luck! I am on my way up from PA on Wed night. We lost a few guys but there are 4 of us heading up. Last year was our first trip also. Are you going to hit up the DSR?  I had only fished Erie before going to the SR. Those kings and hos fight a hell of a lot harder than any steel in Erie.

Check out the Douglaston Salmon Run. You have to pay $30 to fish that area but it is near the mouth and has some great holes and runs. We hit that once last year and was worth it. You will have to let me know how you did when you get back. Hopefully, we will be fishing Erie soon. I probably won't make that trip until the one fly. Here is a link to the DSR.

It will be the first time for a couple of the guys that I am going to the one fly with. They usually only do trout. I have seen plenty of guys use noodle rods with flies and do good. Might as well go up. I will be there if the wife lets me.

Good Luck! I will be up soon enough. I wish I was already there. They are pounding them now.

You boys better pack alot of extra tackle.  Steel dont hold a candle to those kings. I too have been to Erie and fished on walnut and elk creeks. Best of luck.

Hopefully there will be some rain in Erie for the weekend of the 10th.  The tribs are painfully low and the steel have no place to go.

Akita- I was supposed to go with you.  Your fishing partner whom I work with, mentioned going in October.  Then, two days before you guys leave, he says,"we moved it up to September".  Too late for me to get vacation.  I know you remember me.  I was with you and your fishing partner last year when you and him were hammering them at Elk and I was right next to you, using the same bait, floating the same stretch-and I caught nothing.  Still having a hard time getting over that.  Good luck if you are going out archery hunting tomorrow.
