from my experience, fishing walleyes at night from shore at the mouths ,this is the time to do it. best if the lake is almost dead calm. which is hard to plan a trip for. usually the action is always slow and first bite doesnt usually start till 900 or 1000 pm but there are people fishing for them now. i havent been out yet and have been meaning to. i think are late spring time temps have delayed things as well. good luck if you go smally hunter. i might try the east side tribs this year to find out if they are there or not. might be wasting my time but ill know 1 way or the other.  i know the west side tribs do.
