nice!  the one I caught this year so far wasn't that big, but I caught a similar sized fish late last year, probably early december or so.

good to hear they're in elk also.  means that sandbar isn't as bad as I thought it was

well done, duud!
That's a big fish in any water, but especially for Pa tribs.

I've never been fortunate enough to catch  one that big in Pa waters
I did get lucky once  and hooked a MONSTER  on Elk  about 10-12(? ) years ago, but he SMOKED me and broke off.
And honest to goodness I was thinking about that fish TODAY fo-reel
It was probably the longest and heaviest  steelie I've EVER hooked

interestingly enough, he also bit a maraboo jig.
Though this one was a blue chenille and maraboo jig
And honest to goodness I was thinking about that fish TODAY

though white with just a couple/few strands of pearl flashaboo was always my best producer

NIce fish thats a huge one...anyone ever see Joebaker79's huge one from 12 mile last year? I think it was like 14-15 and just monstorous.  He said he caught it on a jig and I always see him saying he jigs all the time....apparently thats the way to go.

the best tip i can give is fish often as you can!!! and from my understanding the bigger fish come in first so now or right after the first good rain we get something around the 35+ cfs range
but in all honesty i believe i was just in the right place at the right time

Many big fish come in the fall from Sept to Nov, sometimes whole runs of big males show up at the same time.  I'd say that the winter months have some of the biggest fish coming in however.  With less anglers less monsters get caught in the colder months but many times the desserted holes near the mouths in the winter will have a couple fish in them early in the mornings and you can find some enormous fish.  1 common place would be the wall at Walnut.  It is no man's land after november but it's worth drifting the entire wall a few times if you can handle the wind on a 20-30 degree morning off the lake.  If the creek has a half decent flow and that winter green color you could find yourself in a real battle with all the room in the world to fight it.
