yawn, i got tired of hearing biden refering to scranton PA. throughout the debate?? he had to go to deleware to become a senetor? wasn't PA. good enough for him? sort of like hillary going to new york.

he started to sound like bill, I DIDN'T SAY THAT! I DIDN'T HAVE.....

did anyone notice joe's nose was a foot longer by the end of the debate?

John McCain's support for clean coal technology is in sharp contrast with both Barack Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden. Earlier this year Barack Obama said, "What we ought to tax is dirty energy, like coal" and just last week, Joe Biden claimed to be a "hard-coal miner" on his trip to Virginia, saying that it was "nice to be back in coal country." Yet a few days earlier in Ohio, Senator Biden said he wants "no coal plants here in America" and that he and Barack Obama are "not supporting clean coal."

Biden Said Obama Is Not Ready To Serve As President. ABC's George Stephanopoulos: "You were asked is he ready. You said 'I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.'" Sen. Biden: "I think that I stand by the statement." (ABC's, "This Week," 8/19/07)

Biden Said President Bush Should Have Followed John McCain's Foreign Policy Lead Following The September 11, 2001 Attacks. Biden: "I mean, look, the president had a choice and it was a tough choice when he came--when 9/11 occurred. He could either listen to the advice Colin Powell and Shinseki and most of the uniformed military, and John McCain as well, and Dick Lugar and others, or choose the advice of the vice president, secretary of State--the secretary of Defense and others, and he chose the wrong advice, and this--I think we need a fresh start to be able to gain any momentum on this war on terror, and I don't think we're going to see any change--I'd feel a lot better if I knew that President Bush was going to be elected--and I'm not being solicitous--if I knew he was going to start to listen to John McCain instead of the secretary of Defense, because they have totally different--no, I shouldn't say totally--many--have very different views of how to proceed. And so I think you'd see a difference in the way how you prosecute the war in Iraq. I think you'd see a difference in how you dealt with homeland security. And I think you'd see a difference in terms of the cooperation with other nations in terms of getting the consensus on how to deal with controlling chemical, biological, nuclear weapons." (CBS's, "Face The Nation," 10/31/04)

i can't stand joe biden, in that debate he stated about 5 things as fact that were completely false!  one was that people who make under 250k wont see a tax increase.  but in b. hussein obama's social security plan it says he will make the social security tax on all of the money you make not just the first $97,500. so with this in his plan if you make between $249,999.99 and $97,500.01 you will get some tax increase will you not?

Right now you pay into soc.sec. up to $97,500. Under Obama's plan you will pay into soc.sec. on everything over $97,500. Not exactly what I'd call a tax increase.

As far as Biden saying things that were false go to "factcheck.org" and you'll see Palin wasn't exactly "Ms. Truthful" in everthing she said either.

berk, glad to see someone so young has taken an interest, not in politics, but in our country.  time may prove your opinion right or wrong, we have all been there, but keep interested, because you may be one of the guys that can make a change someday.  just remember, very few politicians will ever keep most of their promises and that is life.  don't get discouraged.  as life starts to beat you up and maybe disappoint you a bit, when voting, always ask yourself if the last year, four years or whatever have been better or worse than the previous term.  you're our future, so stay involved and let your heart be your guide.  don't be afraid to say you were wrong and don't gloat when right.  as an old dirt voter, i have been wrong as many times as right.  thanks for your post here.

I remember a little girl at a McCain convention asking the Senator if he will ever raise taxes, he looked her in the eye and emphatically said NO!  Just take a look at his health care plan and  you'll see how much of lie that is!

Gotta love a guy that is in such a hurry to post he can't take the time to type barrack but still finds the time to type hussein. Well played I am now convinced he is working with the terrorists!

In that same debate she denied the general in charge in Afghanistan said a surge like in Iraq would not work but he is quoted in the Washington Post As saying exactly that. Liar liar dress is on fire.

If McCain's healthcare plan went through I would get crucified.  I have three kids, a wife and three jobs.

Berk, as far as going into politics, be prepared to check your soul at the door if you want to succeed.

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin released her tax returns and personal financial disclosure report Friday, showing her to be the lowest earner of the four national candidates.

Sarah PalinGov. Palin and her husband, Todd, an oil-field worker and small-businessman, had a combined adjusted gross income of $166,000 in 2007, up from $128,000 in 2006, the tax returns show.
The Alaska governor's financial information was released a day after a debate with Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden in which Gov. Palin repeatedly identified herself as middle class.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain paid more for household help last year—$270,000—than his running mate and her husband earned. Sen. McCain reported $852,000 in household income in 2007. His wife, Cindy, an heiress to a beer distributorship fortune, files her tax returns separately. Her returns showed $6 million of income in 2006.
Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama, and his wife, Michelle, reported income of $4.2 million last year, according to tax returns released earlier this year. Their income included $3.9 million from book royalties.

Todd PalinSen. Biden and his wife, Jill, reported $320,000 in adjusted gross income last year. Their tax returns, released earlier this year, were notable for how little they gave to charity: $995, or less than 1% of their income.
The Palins gave somewhat more: $3,325 last year, including items donated to the Salvation Army, or 1.5% of their adjusted gross income.
Sarah Palin is the breadwinner of the family, the documents show. Last year as Alaska governor she earned $122,000 in the "Medicare wages" field of her W-2 form, while Todd Palin earned $46,600 as an employee of BP Exploration Alaska Inc.
Todd Palin also reported a net profit of $15,500 from a commercial fishing business. But the champion snow-machine racer reported a loss of nearly $10,000 from his racing venture.
As citizens of Alaska, the Palin family and their children are eligible for dividends from the state from energy revenues. Gov. Palin reported on her financial disclosure form that those dividends were worth between $10,000 and $30,000 to her family for last year and 2008.
The Palin's largest asset is their home in Wasilla, Alaska, valued at between $500,000 and $1 million. They own a fishing leasehold on the Nushagak River in Alaska worth between $100,000 and $250,000, and various mutual funds and stocks worth between $113,000 and $470,000. The form requires disclosure of asset values in broad ranges.

Todd PalinSen.

here's a good example of a young couple who has worked hard from the ground up. no one seemed to give them anything or inherited any wealth.they worked at different jobs and got to where they are now from 'working at it!!'

now under obama's plan he wants to tax the h3ll out of them!! why? jealiousy? is this what working for the American dream is all about? work hard to make a good enough living to raise your children, buy a comfortable house that you, yourself worked for without devious hand outs? then just to get comfortable and have someone like obama to point his finger at you and say "you make to much money, your rich, i have the power to tax the H3LL out of you and i call this fair!"
are people that jelious of the rich, that worked for it, really think it's fair?
question?
1. how will it effect you, as an individual, if we don't over tax the rich, $150,000 makers?
2. how will you feel working hard to grow your own small business and than have the hands of govn't tax you more, more and way more % of the general public?
3. how does it effect you if all us working class people, making a living on our own accord, gets taxed to pay for some self inflicted poor lazy arses so they can live off of welfare, get govn't funded health ins. get loans they can't pay off so they can have a house and live off the govn't for generations?

I agree DT with most of what you say.  The only problem is that something has to give.  This country cannot sustain it's spending.  Seemingly we can't stop spending (Iraq/bailout/defense budget etc...etc...etc...)  So what do we do??  What is the answer?  Lower taxes?  Ask the lower middle class to give a larger portion of their income??

DT,

He is not going to tax the H@LL out of them. He is only going to bring the rate back to pre-Bush levels. Which is WAY below the levels of the 50's & 60's during which much of the "middle class" was created.

In fact, under Obama's tax plan the Palins would see NO increase in income taxes ( rate wise ) unless they also have a nearly $100,000 increase in income.

Under the "fiscally responsible" Republicans, we have acquired nearly $10 TRILLION dollars in debt ( and not NEARLY because of social programs ). Someone has to pay the bill. The poor have nothing to chip in, the middle class doesn't have much left. So where are you going to get it?
