I hoping to fish for perch and walleye off ashtabula tomorrow wednesday. 9/3/2008

Any hints as to how deep the perch are and where they are, directions or gps coordinates.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Doug:

But is that 42.01 N and 80.50 W ?

That would put you NE of bula outside Connie.

If this is the case then I should go out of Connie.

Thanks,

If you do go to Conneaut, they were in 71 feet of water yesterday. Go out on a 010 to 020 heading until you see the pack.

What dump?  Is there a marker there?

I went out wednesday to ashtabula.  The Perch Pack was 5.5 miles out in 70 fow a little NW.
The strangest bite,  I have ever seen.  The perch were 20' up from the bottom.  We dropped it on the bottom ( some times that got a perch) and then worked it up 10 clicks( about 20 feet) and then you  usually
got one. On the way up hits were possible.  I never fished that way before always have fished on the bottom.  You needed  a good graph, the perch were solid black on the graph at 50 feet.

Did reasonably well but ran out of bait.  May try Connie, Monday 9/29.; perhaps there will be more bait available there.  All reports on perch will be much appreciated; especially if you know of a bait store in ohio with shiners.
