Gentlemen, I hope everyone is well! Are we ready for the big trip this Sunday? Was on the river  Sunday and the feed is on! Looking forward to meeting everyone and fishing. I would like to have someone PM me and let me know exactly where we are meeting! Thanks for doing this. Also I would like to set a time to meet. I will then post the time for everyone. If you cannot be there at that exact time, don't worry we will be there for a while! Also, I will be coming from the North Hills area, does anyone want to ride down with me? Please let me know. I have room for 4 people! Please everyone pack a lunch! I will bring a couple of folding chairs with me! I am looking forward to seeing you all Sunday! We will relie on the guys that are more local to the stream to give us an update on the conditions if warranted! Take care! Get ready to go guys, should be a great day!!!

If anyone is looking for directions, you should know that Eureka Hollow is now called Orisik Hollow Road.  Here is a link to it:

What time is the gathering?  I may stop in for a bit.  Meeting at the Van Meter ballfields like the spring trip or the Smithton side of the river?

To be honest I say we meet at like 6:30 AM at the Eureka hole on the Smithton side.  This way if anyone wants to move to another location then they can once everyone has met.  I plan on being on the river that day around daybreak.  Come on down TroutAbout this one will be better than the last event.  We will actually fish this time and not just all set around and get drunk. lol

The time of my arrival will be dependant on my condition from a picnic in Grove City on Saturday.  Last time I heard, there is to be 5 or 6 different barrels of homebrew.

May try to get there early Sunday.  My time is limited though due to birthday parties in the afternoon.  Will try to stay for a bit.  Hopefully no rain.

If this isn't a private event, can someone be a bit more specific about the meeting location?

The provided link just marks Smithton and as I'm not at all familiar with that area I need more detailed information.

Once in Smithon follow the river towards the town/village of Jacobs Creek on river road.  The river will be on the right of you when driving.  The Eureka hole is about 1/2 mile up this road.  There is a train track crossing on your left and and a parking area on the right (slate dump).  This is the hole.

This is not a private event by any means.  The more the merrier in my opinion.

If not familar with Smithton then here is how to find river road.  Coming from rte 51 cross over the smithton bridge.  Stay on that road till you come to the only major intersection.  Huss Chiropractic is on the left along with a Lutheran church in front of you to the left.  Make a right at this 4 way (you dont have a stop sign).  Follow that through the next stop sign and cross the tracks.  This starts river road.

If coming from Rte 70 once in Smithton just stay on main street through 2 stop signs and cross the tracks.  This starts river road.

Both.  I always wear chest waders though.  I know alot of people this time of year just wet wade.  Shorts and sneaker.

I would suggest either chest waders or just plain old shorts and sneakers.

You won't get out very far with just hip boots.  I had a friend down there Sunday and he filled his hip boots up with water just so he could get to the better stretchs.  I was wet wading and this old man will be wearing his chest waders.

Well if it interest anyone I can bring a little mountain dew from Kentucky with me on Sunday? Any interest? I will say this my buddy had some while we were camping a month ago and fell into the fire! It is some of the highest octane that I ever have had! Just a fair warning to everyone!

Kentucky shine, damn, last time I had Kentucky shine was in Kentucky.  I would love a little of that to huff, 2 ounces, no more.  Great stuff to wash down some Vicodin.

Last weekday before the big event and no activity on the boards about it.  Did y'all back out ?

I was at Eureka from 3 to 6 pm yesterday.... tough sledding.  Used crawlers, but was wishing I had shiners.  Gonna be a tough go for you guys if this heat stays through the weekend.  On a good note, the water level was surprisingly good considering the recent dry stretch.

I will be there for sure.  May even prefish tomorrow.  All depends on what I do tonight.

What time is everyone getting there.  Or is it only going to be 71GTO, Mossy Oak, and myself.  I even have my doubts on Mossy Oak. lol

Hey, I'm gonna have to bow out on this one, unfortunately.  Got invited to be my friend's canoe buddy for a day of fishing on the Conemaugh.  I'll definitely have to come check out the Yough soon though.

There was a guy and gal that drifted by in a canoe about 5:30.  Said he started at Whitsett and brought in 35 Smallies using minnows.  Must not have been from the area since he asked how far they were from West Newton.

I actually couldn't give him an honest mileage by river, but I'd guess maybe what 4 miles between bridges (Smithton and W. Newton ) ?

Well, for the last several days I've been spreading carp bait through the hole at Eureka.  I'm headin down tonight with a corn fly I tied.  I guarantee there will be some Smithton Steelhead lurkin around for Sundays fishing event.  Make sure you have some 3X tippets with you.

As of right now, I should make it around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I have a fantasy football draft at 11 am to attend.
