Status: online 		I know that the main lake is a good musky fishery.  Someone told me musky can also be caught in the little creek like area below the dam.  Fished there a long time ago and did catch some walleye.  Are there really musky to be caught there?  How is the fishing in general there?  Looking for a back up plan for the last weekend in july in case French Creek high and unfishable (I am told it often is after a storm).  Thanks!

Status: offline 		i have not fished the outflow in a while but i did walk it late last summer and saw a dead muskie some one threw on the bank. it was about 30-35 inch range. so they have to be in there...

there are some/ 1 in the outflow

Status: offline 		On opening day of walleye this year there were dozens of muskies being caught that evening. Got a limit of eyes and two muskies myself. Summer time tends to be better for them. Have also caught them in the dead of winter when there was no ice on the bay. Great time to fish not very crowed.

Status: offline 		Never fished there myself, but have a few friends that walleye fish there. Have been told by them that they do catch musky there.  I believe that you need a trout stamp to fish it though, because it is a stocked trout water as well.

A Trout stamp is only required from 8 a.m. on the opening day of trout season until 12:01 a.m. on the first Saturday in May. 

The lake, is not approved Trout waters, and requires no stamp at any time.

Status: offline 		beerman, my brother in law from warren, ohio has traveled over there to fish for musky below the dam for years.  that is the only place that he fishes for them.

Status: offline 		Always people fishing that spot to catch a musky. IMO it's like goin to Walmart. You can do it pretty quick without getting too involved in the sport, ie. having the right gear, or actually knowing how to read water.  With that said, it's a good place to start getting into it.  Be careful because once you catch one you will seriously reconsider fishing for any other species.  Any lake that has muskies with a decent enough size stream coming out of it will have muskies in it.

Status: offline 		Don't know if you guys like to fish bass or not but the bass couple years the smallmouth fishing has been excellent in the lake it self as long as you hit it when they are spawning and before the weeds start coming up.

Muskies LOVE trout...

I am not so sure that fish don't move up from French Creek to take advantage of the annual feast.  I am certain that there are enough fish that wash down to the Woodcock hole to sound the dinner bell.
